I thought: Wouldn't it be cool to keep breeding them until I get a primal hatchling and then switch flights and do it all over again? With all flights. So, I selected the above dergs for a nice colour range, not factoring in how bored I soon would become of their rather narrow purple-lish range... When one of their offspring was blessed with primal eyes. By each deity consecutively. These two are G1s from the 2018 FR anniversary, they are among the first dragons to have natural faceted eyes (hatched like this, no scattersights). And no, I didn't hatch them myself, I bought them. For not all that much, if memory serves. Because A LOT of G1s were hatched that day.

I thought: Wouldn't it be cool to keep breeding them until I get a primal hatchling and then switch flights and do it all over again? With all flights.

So, I selected the above dergs for a nice colour range, not factoring in how bored I soon would become of their rather narrow purple-lish range...

I turned him Tundra, because shorter breeding cooldown is shorter. And I gave them both Underbelly, because what's the point of having an invisible tert colour.

That's what actually happened. Now the lore:

Traugott
(Trust In God)
48138902447_b10f9e3f58_q.jpg
Gottliebe
(Love of God)

Traugott and Gottliebe both hatched from eggs that were not laid but had been found, though not by the same clan. They appeared strange, with eyes the likes of which nobody had ever seen before. Were they chosen by the Gods? For what purpose? Where could they find answers?

Not in their adoptive clans. Make no mistake, they were treated kindly and would have been welcome to make a home for themselves. Two homes, actually. They chose to give in to their wanderlust instead. Because somewhere out there something was calling to them. Or someone.

They met at a crossroads somewhere in the vastness of Sornieth and were struck by recognition. Being together was their purpose, leading a pious life in the service of each deity consecutively, until they had been found worthy (by each deity consecutively).

How would they know? When one of their offspring was blessed with primal eyes. By each deity consecutively.

How It Works

I did Nature myself. However, I'm rather attached to my flight, @dirtyzucchini isn't, so she's switching flights for me (thanks, love). I pay "rent" (and flight change fees) and keep an eye on the rtb countdown. As soon as a new clutch hatches, she sends the hatchlings over to me. I level them to 15, dress them, pair them up with a matching familiar and park them in my den until either of us needs cash badly or the right exalt bonuses roll around.
I now have to send them back for exaltation though, because it's important they are sent to the correct deity. It turns out exaltation pillars on earlier dragons change when a player switches flights, so we take screenshots for documentation.
I used to exalt one clutch as soon as the next one matured, but with the den I have SO. MUCH. SPACE. And I quite like looking at the "Augendämmerung" tabs in both my lair and den.
I try to breed Traugott and Gottliebe every 15 days like clockwork. I think twice so far it's been a day or so late. That's okay. They're only pixel dragons after all.
I started with Nature because that's my flight. Wind or Water were the two next festivals when I got the Nature primal - dirtyzucchini picked Water.
That's pretty much our itinerary for the whole project: Whichever flight's festival is next. Unless it's Plague or Shadow. Those will be last and next to last respectively. Because those primal eyes are not very, well, pleasing to the eye ;-)
I scattered both dragons before they moved to Water, because all the purple was driving me purple. I changed their breeds too, once again for variety. I intend to keep doing that with each new chapter. What's one more (lorewise) divine intervention, eh?
Feel free to comment.
Feel free to suggest outfits for the newest clutch. Really, it's getting hard not to repeat myself (too much).
Feel free to start your own Augendämmerung quest. (And call it something else too, if you like.) Please ping me to your thread if you make one, so we can commiserate and curse the RNG together ;-)
All thread graphics were made by me, using both FR sources and sources I bought on Esty. (Digital) scrapbooking is my other hobby. How It Works

 • I did Nature myself.
 • I now have to send them back for exaltation though, because it's important they are sent to the correct deity. It turns out exaltation pillars on earlier dragons change when a player switches flights, so we take screenshots for documentation.
 • I used to exalt one clutch as soon as the next one matured, but with the den I have SO. MUCH. SPACE. And I quite like looking at the "Augendämmerung" tabs in both my lair and den.
 • I try to breed Traugott and Gottliebe every 15 days like clockwork. I think twice so far it's been a day or so late. That's okay. They're only pixel dragons after all.
 • I started with Nature because that's my flight. Wind or Water were the two next festivals when I got the Nature primal - dirtyzucchini picked Water.
