Avalon and Aspen knew their curse was potent, all of their children were cursed the same as they. The curse ran strong, and as their hatchlings grew up and had their own hatchlings with non-tree cursed dragons, it was unfortunate that some of them still developed their curse. Out of nowhere, a dragon of their lineage would begin to sprout up leaves and vines and ivy. It seemed dependent on their element or environment. But other times that did not matter. Avalon was sure his descendants would always be cursed, he wanted to guide them in life and find his own peace in the idea that his curse would linger forever. Aspen wanted to cure it. They both worried about their kin, how they would deal with this malady and overcome what they all inevitably feared to be death by this curse's hand.

Lore:
In some cases, curses grow worse over time. Jacaranda always felt he'd gotten doubly cursed at some point or another, but there was no particular reason why it would have been him. His curse not only gave him the visage of a tree, but his scales constantly flaked off. His hair grew longer than other Imperials, matted and knotted more easily. The only thing that didn't look old and damaged were his wings, the brilliant purple always stayed soft and clear.
Jacaranda grew tired with the pitying looks he received, although he knew not all dragons gave him that look. He decided perhaps he could find a place elsewhere and chose to make his way to the Starfall Isles. Not even he could identify the reasoning he chose that region, but no one could have suspected that he'd find a rather large forest there. What was more, he found that living within it were others that, like him, were cursed or otherwise more-than-dragon. A dragon with the aspects of a flower, another made insectoid by a curse. And somehow... the muddy clay in some swampy sections of the forest made his scales feel less itchy. Taking up residence here, he found he could find a place among several other dragons who tended the forest and the creatures within it. No one pitied him here, no one found his curse odd. They only offered him the same things they offered any of the other dragons: help and comfort.
