@Perlyreilth Slowly you reach for the handle, it is cold and uninviting in your touch. A deep clunk resonates through the door and is followed by a rushing hiss of air. You feel as though the air in your lungs is being squeezed out of you as the air is sucked into the door and room beyond. Long tendrils pierce the void beyond and slither toward you, through the opening, to clutch your helpless form.
Breathless, you somehow muster the strength to shut the door once more. Tearing the slithering shapes from your figure, you find a strange otherworldly creature thrashing in your arms, wrapped up in shimmering fabric.
@MikuKitty You find yourself drawn to the modern door, the other options just didn't feel right, and something about this one just calls to you. As you approach the door, you note the way the paint has been worn away, it seems due more to overuse than damage. The knob wiggles a bit as you clutch it and take in a preparatory breath. Twisting the knob and swinging the lightweight door open wide, you hear a shuffling, and watch a creature skitter away from the opening in abject shock, tipping over a small velvet ottoman in it's flight. Taking in the scene over the next few seconds, you gather what had happened. It looks like you stumbled upon someone's secret, quiet, reading place. As the soft crackling flame lapped at the logs in the fire, you start to tidy up the overturned furniture and strewn books. Bright curious eyes following your every move...
@mes3 The rich dark wood of the door is so alluring, you struggle to tear your eyes from it long enough to find the knob. Surely such a magnificent spectacle must bear something equally extravagant beyond it's threshold! It's heavy, and it takes a significant effort to open, but as the warm inviting light envelops you, you find yourself mesmerized. Sprawling before you is a long finely decorated hallway, the walls painted a rich cream, offset by similar chocolate-colored wooden trim. You wander through the halls for hours, further doors opening to rooms of equal wonder. Each room of this splendid manor entreating you to an expansive collection of magical items. For the entire time you find yourself wandering, you haven't seen a single sign that anyone was home.... perhaps you could borrow a few things? Surely no one would notice a few choice items going missing?
