I still have all my original dragons, and oh boy can you tell by their genes and colours
the first 7 pages of my main lair are all my originals
then Ancients happened, starting on page 8 and you can tell, my lair changed dramatically
remember when Cry/Face was the most exciting new gene pair?!!!

I've always been interested in old dragons, starting back when I bought 7 digit fodder by the bushel. I kept my favorite low digit imperials and rehomed the best ones. I've picked up some 6 digits early, a few 5 digits in more recent years, and held onto 7 digit G1s. And now that my progens and other join date dragons are 8 years old my lair is getting on the older side.
I doubt I'll ever get any dragon older than #4353. I don't coli and train like I used to, but once I unload my NotN egg stash I'll probably be buying more decade old dragons. Or UMAs for decade old dragons. Or new genes and breed changes for decade old dragons. Except I'm frugal, so maybe instead 9 year old dragons that match accents I already own, lol

I love old dragons - I spin lore around them, it's fun to come up with all of the adventures they've had along their way.
My oldest are a handful of 6-digits. My lore sets 7 digits as "a very old dragon" and <7 digits as "longer-lived than dragons realistically can be", so they all tend to be dragon-[i]shaped [/i]or have some magical shenanigans going on. Naberius (#643256) was a dissertation defense present to myself - they're a glitched tiny noc!

Lore paints them as a kind of spirit, here to keep an eye on my oldest dragon (#254526). Nayhtet was a lucky find on the AH - their primary and secondary colors are inverted from those of my custom progen (who also used to be a fae), so their lore paints them as an ancient leviathan-changeling who took that progen's place. They're triple basic, still, which is neat! (And now wearing the new fest apparel.)

I'd love to get my hands on a 5-digit dragon one day (...or lower...) - oh, the [i]story possibilities[/i]....... but I don't have any real source of gem income, so that's a bit of a pipe dream. :')
