The "Light-Touched", the "Painted Ones"...
Smoulder had heard many nicknames for particular Wildclaws over the years, Wildclaws who always shared the same genetic disposition. Whenever light magic touches these Wildclaws, no matter their prior appearance, the color would begin to wash from their feathers, fading away to leave patterns behind. It is a strange, mystical effect that sets them apart from the normal Dragons of Sornieth who carry the standard genes for Piebald and Paint. Each of these unique Wildclaws bare solid stripes on their dorsal side from nose to tail along with a spattering of heavy stripes on their wings. Each Wildclaw has their own stripes and there is yet to be one who has an exact match to another Wildclaw.
No one knows exactly what causes this reaction to light magic, not even Smoulder herself, asking the Lightweaver has garnered no answers as she doesn't know either. For now the most Smoulder has been able to do is establish a central hub called the Falted Pillar right on the edge of The Emperor's Wake. Here she can monitor the Wildclaws that have this reaction to light magic and the ever growing population of these dragons. In this process she has also established good relations with Serthis, Harpy and Centaur clans.
The Painted Ones all come from different parts of the world, all with different personalities themselves making their kind diverse and a mixing-pot of their species.
