They are a subspecies that utilizes the strange colours of Flaunt and Flair as well as XYZ colour patterns. Mushelisks are described first by their [b]Blessing[/b] and then their [b]Type[/b]. [b]Type[/b] is determined by their [b]colour range[/b] and is the core part of a Mushelisk's identity. It's like a sub-sub-species, it can affect everything from their personality, to alignment, powers and most importantly, Mischief! (which we will get to later!). [b]Blessings[/b] are determined by the [b]Tertiary Gene[/b] of the Mushelisk. They can be seen as extra powers, a certain skillset or even a class. Mushies who do not do Mischief for a long time start to become dull in colour, stop eating and can eventually even pass away. It is not uncommon to see Mushies called things like Chicago, Stiletto, Dressage or even JudasPriest. Nothing is off the table really - food, music, art, clothes, objects, places, animals and celebrities all qualify. --> [b]Hinkypunk names:[/b] Hinkypunks have only ever ended up in our world on accident and usually get lost or eaten and never come back. Because of this they only have names after things that are in Sornieth. The most popular Mushelisk apparel is, of course, the mushroom apparel as well as mushroom colonies in any shade. A fancier Mushelisk might use a witch or wizard's hat and a staff or sword. Most mushelisks usually have herb pouches, woodbaskets, herbs and animal companions they have with them if they are working. A Tooth Mushelisk might wear bones, Root mushelisks tip more towards nature wearing wood and skulls, Wimzards love colourful wizard capes and Moon's wear things that make zero sense. Hinkypunks only wear the rotten food that has been thrown at them by other dragons. This bioluminescence seems to carry across in their appearance; while their bodies are as dark as the night sky, every Moon notably has glowing eyes. Their colours range from the deepest blues to the palest whites and seem to lighten from primary to tertiary. They are very ethereal and talk in a strange otherworldly voice, often saying phrases to other dragons like "I bring you [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_9cb37090A]peace[/url]. I bring you love." Everything they do and represent is about the soul, our dreams and the stars. They are fully capable of using the Fairy Rings to hop into dragon's minds as well as their dreams and because of this they tend to cause Mischief with silly dreams and nightmares. Dragons affected by them are, in minor cases, caught daydreaming about things like being wedded to a tree branch; while at the extreme end of the spectrum become stuck in nightmares where their hands keep turning into cake in front of ravenous children. A very evil Moon can drive a dragon insane, whereas a kinder one can soothe mental illness or even allow someone to dream of a deceased love one. In some cases, Moon Mushelisks have become healer-prophets with large followings. Moon Mushelisks revere and are represented by the Mycena Chlorophos mushroom. This earth is often found between the roots of trees and is much more frequent in swamps or mangrove forests. Described as "tree-ish" or "swampescent" in appearance these bad boyes perfectly emulate their birthplaces, coming in a wonderful range of browns and greens. Clay is a very common colour amongst Roots. Whilst all Mushelisks have a connection to earth and nature, in Roots it is greatly exaggerated. It's widely believed that Roots were originally what the Earthshaker was trying to create, and as such are the perfect Mushelisk specimen. Some Roots believe they were a gift from Earthshaker to Gladekeeper and refer to these deities as "Mum" and Dad". Root culture is centred around their kinship with the earth and nature. Their homes are in treehouses or mudhuts, they wear garments made from leaves, and jewellery from wood and animal skulls. Everything they craft is almost exclusively made from natural resources. Roots from clans all over the world come together every year for a "Root Doot" where they paint their faces with mud, drink something called "Root Beer" and howl and dance with the animals of the forest. Don't let their love for the wild things fool you, Roots have very devious Mischief. It's not uncommon around these guys to suddenly find ants carrying off your stuff, a horse appearing on your balcony or birds pooping on your head. Occasionally, a Tooth Mushelisk can spawn from genetic defects or sickness so It is entirely possible for another Mushelisk Type or even a normal Obelisk to "turn" into a Tooth. They not only sprout any flora or fauna anywhere they desire but they also have such an affinity for animals that most creatures will greet them like old friends. (Since Root Mushelisks are similar to the Earthen Blessed, an Earthen Root's magic is incredibly amplified. It has been said an Earthen Root can do things like summon giant whales to drop on someone's head or make an entire species migrate for their own good.) These dashing himbos and herbos are incredibly fierce combatants that fight tooth and claw like feral beasts. The most powerful of Drake Mushelisks can spit fire that's so hot it turns white. Like any warrior-types they love friendly spars, duels to the death and going to war. Whilst their Mischief tactics might not be the most complex, most dragons don't appreciate being noogied by a Mushelisk. Any Haunted Mushelisk can make a killing by offering to be possessed by a loved one's spirit. They are commonly spotted casually chatting to dragons that aren't there. Like anything undeady - they are also capable of necromancy. Nastier Haunted Mushelisks like to re-animate bodies at funerals and make them breakdance whilst the kinder ones use troupes of mice skeletons to entertain children. Any way you look at it, they're rather morbid mushies. Mischief abilities include being able to spit litres of saliva at a time, screeching like dolphins and using their tails like they're Selina Kyle. Tattoo Mushies are not only naturally gifted at painting and drawing but are so powerful that anything they create can be brought to life! Painted tigers are drawn into battle, fish doodles are scribbled to entertain and beautiful landscapes are summoned to soothe. Anything those talented claws can create, can be called upon. They are rarely seen, seemingly flickering in and out of existence.. and the truth is not far off - for the Celestial Blessed are travellers of time, space and alternate dimensions. Not only can they step between realities in a blink of an eye but they can also use the Mushroom Rings to traverse the cosmos, often alighting on different planets and alien civilisations, bringing weird quirks and objects back with them. Perhaps the most unnerving thing about a Celestial is their vow of silence. They understand, but they do not speak. Perhaps they are changed from their travels, or perhaps they realize their experiences and ways would be so far beyond our belief it would break our minds. In Ancient Mush times, the Heavenly were seen as something akin to demi-gods in the Mush population and it wasn't uncommon to find clans worshipping them or being employed to advise royalty. Over time, though, the true nature of their Blessing came to light and many grew to look upon them with terror, causing worldwide uproar and unrest. So what powers do they have to spark such fear and reverence? These Mushies are completely in tune with the whisperings and powers of the Gods themselves. In the early days, this was wonderful for most dragons that wanted to be close to their elemental deities. They could move the sun to embody the Lightweaver, they could pox the land to become the Plaguebringer, even outshine the stars to be one with the Arcanist. However, it is not only the Sornieth deities that inhabit our cosmic realms. So when they started showing powers of mad gods, old gods, multi-headed gods, the shade, the gods of time, the planets and other unknown worlds, Mushkind was rightfully horrified. To this day many are still ostracized and, in rare cases, still highly revered; they are treated at best with a nervous respect and at worst chased away and made outcasts. The Blessing of the Frog is both a hindrance and a gift. It is often marked upon a Mushelisk by the coloured belly but is most notable in their behaviour. Frog-blessed Hatchlings, upon exiting their shell almost immediately leap away, stick onto the wall and jump off never to be seen again. While still full Mushelisks, their behaviour has led many to believe they've been possessed by a frog as some sort of mischief... though the Frog's will tell you they actually like their froggish behaviour, thank you very much. These jumpy lads can leap to great heights, stick to and climb walls, have extremely long forked tongues and every so often ribbit. They enjoy nothing more than rainy days, dozing off on lilypads and disappearing into a swamp. [/list] [font=arial][size=4][color=#82817f][b]ACIDIC [Capsule][/b] [LIST] [*] [font=arial][size=4][color=#82817f]Acidic blessed Mushelisks can be seen and heard a mile away by their distinct bubbling liquid-filled stomachs.The acid in their stomach, which they spit from their mouths, coat their claws with and offer up as a drink to unfortunate tavern dwellers, carries the unusual property of Deterioration. While we like to think of acid as eroding anything it touches, this acid can also erode anything the Acidic Mushelisk chooses. A touch of Mushelisk Acid can deteriorate friendships, it can wilt emotions, it can spoil trust and even erode cell structures, unmaking something entirely. The strength and effect of the acid is controlled by the wielder's desires. The most mischievous of the Acidics can erode a dragon's belief in anything; some have been made to doubt they are even dragons at all, and instead have begun to live the life of a shoe, forever to be stepped on. The more light-hearted might cause fruit to ripen and fall from the tree early, or food to be eaten before it touches a dragon's lips. The worst of them can cause untold destruction - anything from aging dragons prematurely, breaking relationships apart, to weathering a victim's sense of reality. There is a legend that an Acidic Tooth Mushelisk once tried to erode the foundations of the universe itself by flying into space to spit on the stars. Fortunately, they never came back and we're still alive so... *shrug*. Whilst the 'Blessing' itself is very powerful, it is all-consuming, as the Corrupted have turned their back on all of dragonkind and seem to despise anything and everything; their only wish: to spread whatever influence has overtaken them to everyone else. The Blessing is marked across the body with tendrils and cracks and if you look closely sometimes you can spot teeth and eyes glistening from within them. The power of the Blessing manifests as some sort of darkness, shadows and wreaths of tendrils than can bite, crush and also similarly corrupt any unsuspecting dragon. All dragons steer clear of the Corrupted. Whilst Wimzards can not be born Wild, the Blessing seems to grow upon them the more they fulfill their Mischievious Purposes. For a Wimzard to become Wild they must delight, amuse and confuse at least TEN THOUSAND MIL- okay, maybe like 1000 or something dragons?? I don't really know. I can't do math because I don't like it. BUT the point is, these Wimzards are like super duper good at being Wimzards and because of that the universe decided to paint them a little brighter. What does being a Wild Blessed do? Transfiguration seems to be the main one. They can turn into other animals and beings for a short time and turn other dragons into objects too! The name most likely comes from their transformation, as during every Full Moon they turn into a Werekoi. Basically a giant fish that flops around on land and bemuses anyone who happens to see it. While they may be irreversibly changed by their past, they are also Blessed by it for a better future. Their powers of healing and of spiritual and mental growth are greatly enhanced and as such they are looked up to not only as great healers, but as bastions of hope. Only the most distinguished and prime Root specimens can draw the attention of the Earthshaker, who, so delighted with actual good results of his little experiment can't help but pick them up and shake them around in celebration. The resulting Shakening often leaves the Root with a fine layer of gemstones across their body, which grant them incredibly strong Geomancer abilities. The Earthshook can control all rock. This means they cause earthquakes, they can raise mountains from the ground and crumble them to dust, they can even spawn soil in the mouths of foul-languaged dragons. Perfect Gen Two Mushelisks gain the title Mush Prince, Mush Princess and Mush Lett and usually sport a single golden mushroom. Hinkypunk G1 and G2 Mushelisks are not considered royalty - they're just Hinkypunks. G1 Hinkypunks have tried to claim the title in the past but everyone just awkwardly coughs, shuffles their feet and pretends they can't see or hear them until they go away. Due to their unusual nature, they are not actually children but more like a subspecies that is considered extra-naughty in comparison to an adult Mushelisk. They are the only Mushelisk that has the ability to turn invisible and use this to their advantage when making Mischief. All Sprites have a thick Brooklyn or Cockney accent and a nasally, impish laugh. They usually refer to people as "guv" or "my chum". Whilst this might sound fair and flexible, no one likes a Hinkypunk and any Hinkypunk creators will be firmly but lovingly shamed. Hinkypunks are nasty little Mushelisks. They are incredibly full of themselves to the point of delusion and think everyone else is trash. They are only capable of speaking gibberish, they know and understand language but it always comes out as a mixture of [shouted]: BLAARGHFLAARGHBLARGH or MIHOYNOYNIHOY or SKREEEE. All dragons can actually understand what they're saying though but no one knows how or why. They are exceptionally bad at Mischief and usually end up hurting themselves in the process - whilst blaming the victim and in some cases attempting to sue. They are the friend that every Mushelisk "forgets" to invite. Whenever they pop up from Fairy Rings (usually in the completely wrong place) any nearby creature will grab them by the head and promptly try to shove them back through. Remember to not feel sorry for them. While they may sound similar to a Sprite, they are much smaller (about the size of your pinky finger) and at the absolute bottom-end of the scale of Mischief. To put it bluntly, their attempts at Mischief have about as much affect as a bee punching an elephant. Due to this, they are almost always angry and as a result, prone to tantrums. Other dragons seem to find them amusing and will sometimes keep a Pinky or two in their lair for entertainment. They cannot use the Fairy Rings to teleport so instead carry a single mushroom which they use to smack dragons with or brandish threateningly at any other mushrooms as a reminder of what will happen to them if they don't allow Pinkypunks to teleport.
