Despite this social nature, they can be extremely aggressive if a local decides to approach them or disturb their hunting grounds. They're only known to socialize with other canids, and if one desires to raise one within a clan of other dragons, they must start early. • Each Barghest, has a unique pattern, with no one pelt being the same. As such, it's easy for others of their kind to identify each other and tell friend from foe. • Magic plays a large role in their lives, with each Barghest being able to easily meld into the shadows or dark alleyways effortlessly. Some individuals choose to hone these skills and even branch off into different specialties of magic, becoming alphas. These individuals are highly respected by others of their kind and can pose a great threat to locals if they weren't socialized with dragons outside of their kind. • Haunting lights can be seen accompanying individuals who are naturally gifted. Seeing an alpha with this trait is said to be an omen of misfortune. Whether that may be an impending attack on the nearest town, or just a poor harvest for that year. Social • Pups are often reared together to help develop their social skills. Stealing away one from a Barghest pack is considered extremely risky and dangerous to both the thief and pup involved. Once they're stolen, the pack will very rarely (if ever) take them back, as most consider them "tainted" by the outside world. • Those who are raised with other dragons, quickly bond with them and become very sociable during their adult years, with many individuals perfectly adapting to their new community. Although a good portion of them feel as though they don't belong and often keep to themselves, hiding their abilities from others. • Barghests who aren't raised around other dragons, only mingle with other canids such as dogs, wolves, and even werebeasts.
