Daemons-- A crossover subspecies between Ichors and Necromancers
Introduction
"We, the left hand, the sinister, say unto you to look to the Mother. She who sets our path and guides our claws. Let Her love fester beneath your skin and Her breath bubble in your lungs. Listen. Her crooning rides the winds howling off the wastes. In all things honor Her, in all ways fear Her, and let your bodies be the vector for Her Plague."
~~High Necromancer Kishna.
"Mother has spoken of a new way for us to evolve further and with it the rise of a new age where Ichor and Necromancers come together."
~~Supreme Warden Kairos .

Carnage-Ichor Lore
Like their predecessors, Carnage-Ichor(C-I) were young Seekers that Plaguebringer tricked into a deal for power but unlike their predecessors they are considered the stable version due to their acceptance of becoming monsters for her. Instead of white coats they sport a deep red from their acceptance of plague. Just like their predecessors, C-Is have Invulnerable coats, regenerative abilities, numerous indestructible horns, and the power to infect others with neurodegenerative diseases as well as a disease that causes one to rot quickly from the inside. They are often used as a last line of defense. The loss of their original selves has transformed them into cruel, bloodthirsty creatures who are aware of what they are doing.
Their bodies have also developed an immunity to all known diseases and infections that riddle the plague lands. This granted them their new jobs as "Guardians” of the Wyrmwound, where they are supposed to keep the law and order of The Scarred Wasteland.
They are highly revered as Plaguebringer's demi-gods. In historical murals they are often depicted as "The Ancient Wrath"

With the alarming rise of the Malice-Ichor population spreading all throughout Sornieth, The C-I order sought out the Necromancers for information on their trials and how to proceed with forgoing them. This was also a plan to further modernize themselves outside the Scarred Wasteland. While being overrun with plague themselves, there were many doubts that they could even inherit the power of necromancy. Though the odds were low, this didn't stop them from trying. Selecting an elite few, Wardens began to send out their best from each and every status to take the trials as a new way to seek glory, higher status and the biggest reason power.
Due to their gifts many have gained the title of Daemon.
Due to their abnormal size, immunity to diseases, monstrous strength and vast regenerative abilities, Carnage-Ichor are known for being monsters in their own right. Though even with their gifts it is still possible for them to fail, especially at their own hands. Many Carnage-Ichor possess a highly competitive nature against others and have been known to self-sabotage if they feel that the competition is high. Many don’t even pass at all and have to deal with the consequences of their own greed.
A fully mature C-I obtaining the title of Daemon are highly prized by their Wardens and the Necromantic Council as great soldiers. They will often dawn the title of Crusader or Holy Knight as their specialty. While many do stay in service to their original prisons, others try their hands at other duties in exchange for granting the C-I Order information on the outside world for future modernization.
Unlike regular Necromancers, fully revitalized Daemons do not sport the stripes of plague that all are known for. They instead store it all away in their recognizable gnarls and claws where the worst of the infections continue to swirl and further mutate into something more lethal. Because of this they lose all the pronounced red from their coat as a way to fully contain the plague they already possess so their bodies can handle their new abilities.
A highly experienced Daemon can easily differentiate and separate each kind of disease they have stored for use in combat. The most common and easiest being neurodegenerative. Daemons will often combine their necromancy with their vast physical prowess and rot abilities to devastate their foes.

More often than not a Carnage-Ichor will fail the Trial of Contagion due to their own stubbornness or lack of interest in extracting plague from their victims. Their darker coat is a sign that they couldn't fully contain the new powers and as such gain a lesser title.
Already used to the tradition of serving under another stronger than them, Carnages typically won't have a problem serving a Daemon who they see as someone superior to themselves. While they have no problem in that regard, it is highly unlikely for them to seek to serve a regular Necromancer due to many seeing them as lesser to themselves. Unless a Necromancer is willing to put themselves directly at death's door and risk the chance of being eaten to try to earn a Carnage-Servus' hard-earned respect, they will be encouraged to not even engage with them. As such, a Necromancer who has a Carnage-Servus serving under them are considered truly powerful adversaries and are often direct members of the Necromancer council.
When taking part in the Necromantic council, many high ranking Carnage-Servus often seek out the title of Mutagist, Advisor or Inculcator. They are usually independent and prefer not to be associated with a Necromancer.
Even though they gain the title of Servus instead of Daemon, they are still highly revered by their Carnage-Ichor peers. Especially by Tacticians who often seek out their expertise for future research and reference. The only difference is that they don't gain the privilege of choosing a higher status in their prison like a Daemon would.
Like Daemons, Carnage-Servus store plague within their gnarls and claws instead of sporting it in their spines like regular Necromancers. Creative Carnage-Servus will often use their ability to differentiate their stored diseases and infections to further enhance their combat as well as their research.

Failure is always possible, even for Carnages. If a Carnage-Ichor fails to pass the Trials on their own merits or get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of plague they have to host, they may find themselves turned into a Wraith and as such a symbol of greed amongst the other Ichor and Plaguebringer herself. Due to this, they find themselves overloaded and experience what they call a “Burnout”, a phenomenon where they lose the majority of their abilities(specifics varies between individuals), including the one where they can bestow rot. Many call it a punishment for not truly being loyal enough to get over their arrogance. They will never truly be able to recover from this and thus live in a rather painful existence.
Carnage-Wraiths live in a constant state of fatigue and as such are not able to be much help in the physical department meant for their strenuous prison jobs. If merciful enough, their wardens will test to see if they have the skills to qualify as a Tactician where they will be able to live their life as advisors, if not deemed useful they are usually discarded and cast out of the order where they will spend the rest of their lives in banishment.
Having no place in the Necromancer society either, it is rare to be even accepted by an understanding individual who has the patience of dealing with a Carnage’s temperamental behavior. Those who do manage to find their loyalty however, gain an outstanding ally and guard for the rest of their life. Sometimes even their hatchlings' lives too.

Stained-One Lore
Sent by the Icewarden to locate the many Seekers that have gone missing during their quest to destroy the shade creatures, these Gaolers had no idea of what awaited them. Their search led them to the Scarred Wasteland and at the hands of the sadistic Carnage-Ichor, who despite once being their lost comrades, held no love or memory of any of their would-be saviors.
For generations the Carnage-Ichor were trying to replicate the procedure of how Ichor were made on other dragons, only to end in horrific failure: in these unpredictable administrations of virus and Wyrmwound fluid, death was the most preferable outcome for those unlucky enough to be selected as candidates. A happy reunion with their fractured Order quickly turned into a nightmare as those Gaolers were captured, tortured, and left to rot in their twisted cells, alongside the living corpses of those failed experiments.

Before the Carnage-Ichor decided to take the trials, they decided to send their imprisoned Stained Ones to take the Trials first to experiment and see the likely results. While the C-I's tried to force the Mother's blessings upon them, they hope that seeking it themselves will prove that they are worthy of her power without the consequences that befell the C-I and Ichor as a way to break away from their control and gain their own freedom.
Unfortunately even though they pass the trials they still find themselves "stained" as the waste from the experiments mark even their new stripes of plague, giving them a much lighter appearance. The stripes are corrosive to the touch so caution is heavily applied to those unknowing. The brighter the stripes the more potent they are. It is also noted that Stained-Daemons seem to have gained the rot abilities that a regular Ichor would possess. Their skin has also been noted to be tougher than average as well. Though they would prefer not to go into combat after their traumatic experiences, it doesn't mean that they won't defend themselves or protect what's important to them.
The few who do pass the trials readily gain the protection from the Necromantic Council themselves, severing the connection between them and the C-Is much to their displeasure. Many who don't wish to stay in service return back to the Icefields and try to go back to their old lives under the authority of the Icewarden. The ones who do stay in the wastes stay in close connection with the necro Gaolers and often build up their statuses so that they can free the rest of their brethren that are still under the Carnages control. In debates they are in constant feud against Carnage-Daemons and others who are all for experimentation against Ghouls and Wraiths.
Often enough, Necromantic scholars often seek out their vast intelligence and knowledge to gain insight on many peculiar situations.

The Stained-Ones that fail the Trial of Contagion are not as lucky as their stained, necromantic brethren. Due to not fully succeeding in passing the Trials they still fall under Carnage-Ichor jurisdiction, much to their dismay. It is not an uncommon sight for a Stained-Servus to be under allegiance to a Carnage-Daemon, especially if they get caught by one who oversees the trials.
Like their Daemon counterpart, their stripes of plague retain a "stain" due to the experiments forced upon them by the C-I. These too are corrosive to the touch, rumored to be even more so than their Daemon counterparts. They have also awakened their dormant rot abilities as well as having tougher skin than an average Gaoler.
On rare occasions Servus can also be seen with freed Stained-Daemons or necro Gaolers who have managed to sever their connection to the C-I and their influence. The ones who do stay with their rescuers instead of returning to Icefields will happily serve and give them their absolute loyalty. Though if they're already considered a C-I Warden's property, it can complicate Necromancer-Ichor relations.
Prized by the vast intelligence they seem to possess, they too are often given a voice for strategies and knowledge against the vast unknowns that seem to be hidden.

A dragon becomes a Wraith if they fail to pass the Trials on their own merits, or if they somehow manage to avoid becoming a Ghoul after failing. Sometimes they are healed by a Necromancer who witnessed them succumbing and decides to intercede before it's too late. Sometimes they manage to beat back the infection but not before the time limit on the 23rd day.
Interestingly enough, unlike regular Wraiths, Stained-Wraiths have seemed to develop new abilities. The most noted being a near photographic memory and the ability to access eye magic outside of their normal. The latter is most noted in more experienced Stained-Wraiths.
Due to the experiments that caused their creation, Stained Ones find that the diseases already present in their bodies react oddly with the Mother's bestowed strain. Instead of taming the disease to become Necromancers or Servus, they instead find that the diseases within them reach a symbiosis. Stuck in between, not an Ichor and not a Mancer. Both are at war with one another for dominance and they are stuck precariously in the middle with no cure.
There have been concerns that there is a possibility that Stained-Wraiths could turn into ghouls later down the line. Due to this, Stains who do fall victim to becoming a wraith are often kept captive by Carnage-Ichor for further experimentation. If in good relations, a C-I Prison would be willing to give them to an allied Necromancer as a gift of sorts.

It is said that a Carnage-Ichor strayed too far from the path of Plaguebringer to the point where they cannot even hear her call for justice. Sporting an odious black coloring and an even more twisted attitude than their predecessors, Mal-Ichor are known to be very threatening pests. They come in 2 different varieties, Crowned and Polymath.
Known as the chaotic evil to the Carnages' lawful evil, Carnage-Ichor are ordered to put them down on sight due to them being considered a dishonorable sin.
Unlike their carnage variant, Mal-Ichor are the symbol of ancient chaos and feed off of all negativity and disorder. Developing the ability to manipulate others with just the sound of their voice, Mal-Ichor often uses it to disrupt order and peace around the Scarred Wasteland, manipulating any chosen prey into doing their dirty work, making it seem like it was their victim's idea. Constantly depicted in murals, they are often seen whispering false promises and horrible advice to kings or future clan leaders so they can feed off those negative outcomes.
Just like the Carnage-Ichor, Malices too seek further ways to evolve and expand their wide range of terror across Sonerith. Young Polymaths who manage to escape the dreadful grasp from the Carnages when they turn have been known to seek the Trials to further their chances of survival and to have a chance to regain the lost gifts Plaguebringer has taken away due to their betrayal. Using their relatively scarce existence to their advantage, the few Polymaths who do become Necromancers(hence gaining the title of Daemon) eagerly sought out new ways to become Crowned with their abilities.
While many have decided to study in solitude to learn the limits of their newfound abilities, others have decided to do direct experiments by "befriending" young Necromancers. Offering their services and waiting for them to let down their guard to further manipulate to do misdeeds. In their hands many necromancers have fallen into the temptation of making deals with the shade, becoming Lichs. Others have fallen to the paths of infamy and have turned their backs on Plaguebringer only to realize when it's too late that Malice-Daemons aren't doing this for the "goodness" of their heart. The Malice-Daemon's grasp has not fallen to just Necromancers, many have also been known to go out of their way to befriend liches as well as they have learned that eating one can give them an early crown and power of the shade without the backlash.
Crowned Malice-Daemons rarely show themselves without a disguise, having lost the ability to conceal themselves in exchange for gaining back their Ichor gifts. With both the power of neurogenesis and gifts, they are strong enough to rival a Carnage-Daemon and in turn are a threat to all of Sonerith. Those who had managed to eat a Lich as a polymath, twice as much as they took over any leftovers remnant of the Shade with the repercussions.
Though rare, ambitious Malice-Daemons may also be seen infiltrating the Necromantic Council as an opportunity for sowing discord. From using their "advocating" position to persuade other Councilors into taking risky actions to Using their position as Necromancers to travel to other clans and provide "guidance" that would be eagerly accepted. They all have one goal in mind, toppling the Necromantic Council as a show of chaos.
It is not rare for a Malice-Ichor to abandon the Trials after they complete the gain the power to infect. Significantly lighter in color than their Daemon counterparts, they have been becoming a much more common sight around all of Sonerith and with them chaos and ruin. While lacking the power to cure, they make up for it with the ability to further mutate the contents of plague they can bestow. creative Malice-Servus will often experiment on their victims to either "perfect" their viruses and illnesses or make them more docile.
Unlike Malice-Daemons, Malice-Servus have a much easier time getting their claws into the minds of both young and experienced Necromancers due to their status. Known to be more cunning than their Daemon counterparts, Malice-Servus can easily gain more knowledge to become crowned by working with a more experienced Necromancer, oftentimes taking advantage of their obliviousness to their existence.
Because of this, the number of Necromancers defecting to become Lichs has risen to an absurd degree and with it Malice-Servus with crowns. Just as ambitious as their Daemon counterparts, many too try their hand in trying to infiltrate the Necromantic Council to cause discord and chaos but with the help of the Carnage-Ichor very few have even managed to get through the supervision.
Failure is always possible and Polymathic Malice-Ichor are not above that fact. Unfortunately for them coming back from that failure has severe consequences. Even while escaping the death sentence of becoming a ghoul, Plaguebringer is not forgiving of traitors trying to steal back her blessing that she has taken away. In response she robs them of their livelihood as well as their remaining lifespan, cursing them to live a fate of being in a near vegetative state as their bodies endure the shock of being "revived".
Parts of their stark black coats turn a ghostly white as a result of barely escaping death's grasp a second time. Being considered an anomaly to Necromancers that don't know of their existence, they are often taken in for study or they end up in a Carnage-Daemon's claws where they will be properly disposed of.
The ones who do end up in unknowing hands still have the opportunity of becoming Crowned, though much harder than a regular Malice-Ichor due to being in a near vegetative state. It is theorized that a Crowned Malice-Wraith has developed hidden abilities in response to regaining their lost Ichor gifts.

Stained Ones and Polymathic Malice-Ichor do not bear the gift of being completely immune to diseases and as such can become Ghouls if they fail. Mutated beyond belief due to the effects of having Ichor blood, Divergent ghouls are completely feral and highly aggressive without even an ounce of memory to recall. Necromancers are often encouraged to not engage unless they apply the help of a Daemon or servus(of any variant) to either try to neutralize or eliminate them. The few who are confident enough to try to handle them on their own are rarely successful and are often a casualty. If not killed instantly, they are left to suffer from the effects of their enhanced rot disease which have been known to cripple over time.
Gaining the size and strength of an average Ichor(1.5x larger) through their dormant Ichor blood, they are known to be exceedingly dangerous adversaries known for desecrating any communities they come across. Instead of being armed with gnarly horns, they sport thick leathery fans which are armed with barbs that store corrosion venom. They can also induce disastrous epidemics onto regions when the ghouls are enraged or confronted with the prospect of battle. It appears that the makeup between the Ichor's gnarls and the Ghoul's fans share the same genetic makeup, making them virtually durable and dangerous to the touch. They also use their fans in battle, often using them as shields to deflect certain magic and physical attacks.
The darker the Ghoul the deadlier the disease they can emit. Lighter colored Ghouls are more known for their crippling illnesses instead of lethal ones. Rumor has it, the outbreak resembles a thin red fog that sometimes won't clear up for months.
While both Stained-Ones and Polymathic Malice-Ichor can become Ghouls there has been a noticeable difference in their behavior. Malice Ghouls have been known to show a much crueler nature and have been documented to purposely seek out inhabited areas to destroy, often staying until they know that there are no survivors left. Against foes, they often use more sneaker tactics, mostly preferring ambush tactics and using their hypnotic voices to lure others away if in groups. Solitary creatures, they will often attack anyone to defend their territory and space
Stained Ghouls on the hand have been seen to work in pairs, a light and dark often being the case, and appear to be nomadic unlike their malice counterparts who will take over a region to call their own. If engaged the pair will often use strategic teamwork, unique to them, to chase away their foes. They are known to be more risky to fight against as their intelligence appears to be very high compared to their counterparts.
Unlike regular Ghouls it is considered a suicidal goal to try to Neutralize them, with those who are successful seen in a brighter light by the Ichor. That in itself will give those Necromancers their allegiance.
It is rare for a Necromancer to be able to neutralize a Virulent Ghoul, even rarer for a Divergent. Considered suicidal for even the most experienced to even risk neutralizing them, Necromancers who are hoping to either gain allies with the Ichor or a title may attempt with the help of a Daemon or a Variant-Servus.
Once neutralized, the individual will gain a copper color instead of the common tarnish due to their Ichor blood being amplified and mutated by failing the trials, giving them a vibrant red hue. Though neutralized, the vast traces of the diseases are still present in their bodies which now lay dormant inside them. Because of this, they have managed to keep the abilities they gained as a Ghoul. It is rumored that even their rot magic has now been amplified due to the stress of being saved. These abilities unfortunately do not come for free as they make the former ghouls unstable if not careful with their usage, making them very reliant on their Mancers.
DNG, as they are nicknamed, are described to be two-faced and carry the stigma of often being backstabbers due to the fact that many used to be Malice-Ichor. Necromancers never know what they are going to get when they decide to neutralize one and the results vary heavily. If lucky they will gain a very loyal and powerful ally who will never leave their side. On the other hand they may gain a traitor who will use them until deemed useless.
