When Veilspuns appeared I went crazy and sold a lot of my hoard, restructured my Lair and even started writing some lore (well, trying to write some).
The breed itself is lovely and its lore is interesting, but what really fascinates me are the genes.
The genes are so cleverly designed. They're really distinctive.
After hours of scrying I found out that I couldn't just throw genes onto one,even gem genes, because I'd end up with a hot mess. So I decided that I was going to take a gene first and find or make a Veilspun to fit it.
I was really lucky to find Thorne who started out basic/basic/basic and is now thorny with web. I've never been so happy to find an avocado tert in all my life.

And I made Moontoes because striation looks really good on her. She isn't finished and will be getting diaphinous next week (or when I sell more stuff) but here she is now. (Edit Sold more stuff...)

And here's one of her daughters, Elm. Another really brilliant thing about Veilspuns is that you can easily change their genes and you don't actually need gem genes if you can't buy them.

Came back from hiatus almost a week after these beauties dropped.
Came back and immediately set to work scrying. Had a G1 girl in my den that was a PERFECT fit and went and bought her a mate.
Both will be getting Branches as well as soon as I save up the mats for them.
