Aro/ace here. While I didn't have problems with my family I went through hell at my pathetic secondary school for being 'weird' and 'unnatural' so I can sympathise. Thankfully that school's over a decade gone and I have the experience to say ignore anyone who thinks you're broken. You're not and never will be. Don't be confrontational or bring it up deliberately, just be discrete but firm about not being interested in things like that, if it does crop up in passing.

That sucks! Honestly, I think 13yo (which I think is the age limit of FR; not saying you are that young) is already plenty old enough to be thinking about your orientation/labels (if you like to use them). And even if you realize a year or two later that you no longer feel like x, that's fine! Then you just pick a new label. :)

unless stated otherwise all my dragons can be considered ace or are since i identify as ace myself :D i think it's bull telling teens or however old you are that you're too young to identify as ace, sexuality can still change and if it currently fits then it fits, it's valid even tho you may still identify as demi or something in the future, currently you're ace and you're not broken <3
to be fair i just never had that talk with my parents lol bc while they're fairly liberal my mother thinks i only identify as queer bc my friends are queer and i've given up on trying to explain that queer kids tend to come in packs but then again i haven't lived home with my parents for a few years now so i don't really care, my friends know i don't do relationships or sex and the rest of my family hasn't asked me whether or not i have a boyfriend for years now, not even getting into the fact that i also identify as a lesbian, it is by now a given that i'm single xD
