Something tells you that he isnt using any magic, but that the spells surrounding him are definitely cast directly by him. In one hand is his pearl, in the other is a sizable mass driver railgun from who-knows-where. When he gets close, he sets the weapon down and lets the emperors take a good look at it. "What do you think" he asks them. "Compared too what the lightning clans have achieved." (His lore explains the mass driver if it is too confusing)
