@Sealterbloind - I'm thinking of doing a pair of dusthide fossils, and just wanted to double-check whether any of the newer gene pairs might qualify for use; in particular both varnish-lacquer and strike-coil seem to have some nicely understated marbling going on, while petrified-lode is such a lovely striated pattern with opal inclusions (though as the only gem gene that might qualify, it'd be expensive to gene up a pair for it).

@MsBarrows
Probably yes.
I'm actually looking to give the subspecies to someone else to maintain, as I've been very inactive on FR for a while now... I just do not have the energy to maintain the subspecies anymore so it would be more beneficial for everyone if that duty would be given to someone else. ^^"

@Sealterbloind - Sad to hear that, fossils are probably the longest-running subspecies I've been a fan of apart from tree dragons. Hoping you can find someone able and willing to take them over; I did that for the lycaon subspecies some years back, though sadly general interest in that subspecies has waned to the point that it's been an age since I last had to do anything with the thread (which is probably deeply buried now).
I've found the pair I'd like to gene up as fossils, and am very tempted by ripple and varnish (or maybe strike) as primaries, with lode and ghost for secondary/tertiary; I kind of love the effect of the lode wings with the treasure primaries, as in these scries:

If you click through there's some additional scries in their bios.
