anybody out there got some autistic dergs they wanna show off?? i'd love to see 'em & hear all about ur lovely neurodivergent kiddos~ [center][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=38472648] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/384727/38472648_350.png[/img] [/url][/center] this is bug, my birthday hatch. someday she's gonna be a wildclaw but for now she's a murderpup who looks like a dr. seuss illustration. i'm still working on her lore but i do know that she's autistic and trained a chromefeather lookout to help her block out extraneous noise when she gets overstimulated. nobody really knows why wailing sirens calm her down so much, but nobody has to understand, as long as it works. EDIT: gonna show off my avatar derg here as well bc we're both autistic~ [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=19725435] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/197255/19725435_350.png[/img] [/url] ginkgo sees faeries, and they're something of a special interest to him. his favorite stims are fur & plant matter, and the deep pressure of his pelt keeps him grounded (he may also be a lycanthrope but that's neither here nor there). he's a swamp witch with approximate knowledge of many things, but his real passion is magical plants, especially medicinal ones that he can use to combine spells w/ his herbal remedies~

@dreamlogic I myself am on the autism spectrum, but for some reason it's...really hard for me to write autistic characters. But I do have one. Though it's not explicitly mentioned in his lore, he is autistic. I don't let that define his character, though, it's just kind of a thing that's part of his character as a whole and shows in his quirks and personality traits.

i don't know what bug's deal is yet, but i'm also on the spectrum and knew i wanted a dragon to represent that in their own way in my clan. she likes tinkering, but she's too young for her personality & interests to have had the time to develop. (she'll get hyper-focused on odd bits of machinery and won't leave them alone till she's figured out how they work and reassembled them a few times on her own.)
