Observation entry 1 - April 30, 2017
The 'standard' (as we have taken to calling them) griffon pair has successfully hatched their first nest. It is only one hatchling, though it appears to be a healthy female. It is not known if the griffons tend to have small clutches as of yet, though it is possible that the pair is still adjusting to their new surroundings away from their communal group. They do still appear somewhat uncomfortable in the area, though they have said that they are happy to stick around and enjoy the area.
They have said they would like the hatchling to grow up elsewhere, however, which I found interesting. They have not told me why, and I did not wish to pry. They seemed uncomfortable with the subject. Perhaps it is related to the single-egg nest? I may ask later, when they're not so upset.
I will continue to track their progress, I don't want them to uncomfortable. I'll tell them they can head back home if they want to. I hope they don't, but I don't wish to force them.
More updates on the way.
