Midnight's familiar Fyr was replaced at the same time as Midnight, with a smoke gyre named Singe. Singe likes to annoy Charcoal's familiar, either for fun or to somewhat keep the act up of Midnight loathing Charcoal.

Gloaming had entered back to the lair of her clan, slightly in surprise at what she had heard. Who was this impostor? Why were they here? How was she going to figure it out. Faes would be the easiest to figure out - she could tell through the headcrest, and bogsneaks... bogsneak would hopefully be able to do the same. What about coatls? She couldn't read coatls at all! What if it was a coatl impostor for that reason?

Although Stormcircuit and Plateau were the only two coatls, it still made her worry. It felt like the fate of the clan rested with her. There had to be someone she could talk to. Stormwater could probably figure out his siblings, and get his girlfriend to check on the coatls... Stormwater was the leader's son, and also a fae. Since she had to talk to him anyways about trade, she could see if he was alright while she was at it.

Finding her way over to where Stormwater was normally, a shadow that towered over her caused her to turn.
"What."
Her voice flat, but still in a questioning tone.
Oh wait it's Umbra.
The spiral who had bent himself into a knot currently looked at her.

"So how are you going to go about this? Because Shadowsong made it clear it's all on you."

As he kept speaking he tied himself in and out of knots.

"I'll start with Stormwater, then make my way to Erianthe and Mania see if they can use there emotion powers and stuff to see who it is."
Her head crest fluttered around a bit as she spoke, and Umbra finally untwisted himself.

"Alright then. Sounds like a plan."

Crim slowly nodded her head and started to walk to the part of the cave that Maroon called home. A Wildwood owl's hoot alarmed the small Bogsneak. Maroon walked in slowly and looked to the owl. "Sakura!" he growled. Crim was surprised, she had never heard Maroon being so rude to anyone, let alone Sakura! Maroon then turned to Crim "What do you need, child?" he spat the last word like an insult. Crim was shocked , but she quickly recovered "I need supplies.". Maroon nodded "Come with me.". Crim walked behind him, but she couldn't shake the feeling that Sakura was watching her. The bogsneak shivered and pulled her goggles over her eyes, feeling she might need to have them on. Maroon turned around gently and stared into Crim's eyes. He spread his wings out fully, he was clearly larger than Crim. Crim cowered before Sakura came swooping down to force her to stare into Maroon's eyes. Crim let out a weak roar, as loud as she could manage. The female bogsneak finally gave up and looked into Maroon's eyes. The first thing she saw was grey swirls. Then she heard a voice , chanting for her to give in, to let Maroon win. She started to slump to the ground in defeat. The voice chanted over and over again "Give in. Forget your worries. Serve.". Crim finally slumped to the ground, she had to let the voice win and for her to drift into nothingness. She finally fell into darkness and let Maroon take control. Crim woke up again. Wingtin looked to Crim and then back to the impostor's body. "You.." Crim started. "I killed the both of them. I can't find the real Maroon and Sakura though." Wingtin sighed. His Scythe Kamaitachi sat next to him. Wingtin got up and walked over to the entrance to the main cave "They're waking up. Go see them. I'll find the two peacekeepers.". Crim waddled into the cave, still on edge as Icefang lead her in. Crim's mentor, Lemon, flew over , a blank look in her eyes. "Crim." At least look at the map I made. It should explain some things. Also, Fallenstar can see the spirit world overlayed with the real world. Basically she can see ghosts and the auras of things. See her bio for more information on that.) WIP Lore Fallenstar crept quietly through the Fen Ruins nervously. The edges of the fog were lingering in and around the long grasses that covered the hills where the black stone monoliths jutted out from the earth. As she passed the closest one, a chill ran down her spine at the sight of something dark and sticky dripping from the rock. Whatever it was (and she was sure she didn't want to find out) had seeped into the strange ancient engravings that littered the stone's surface. She stared at it for several seconds before tugging the treasure bag and her pearl closer to her chest and moving on. Had something dreadful already happened? Fallenstar glanced around above her but there was no sign of Finrod. The giant imperial-esque spirit usually would have shown himself by now to her since she's been gone all day. He was the guardian spirit of Twisting Lights who watched over Rivendule, a magical giant bonsai tree that grew in the heart of the clan's bamboo forest. He was also one of Fallenstar's closest friends, so where was he? She shuddered. If Finrod wasn't showing himself then it meant something was very very wrong here. "We..uh...should get moving," Hadley spoke softly from behind Fallenstar. She jumped and nearly spilled the contents of the treasure bag all across the ground again. Taking a deep breath and glaring up at the tundra who had come to stand beside her, she whispered resentfully, "Shouldn't you be staying out of sight?" Hadley, appearing mildly bemused, scratched his chin, "That lady Nocturne told me to make sure you got though the ruins alright before...uh...sneaking around back." The Tundra's eyes shifted nervously but not like he was frightened by anything looking to attack them from out of the fog. There was something behind his noble eyes that felt off to Fallenstar. She squinted at him, focusing her spirit vision for a moment, and realized there was a faint outline of a spirit floating several feet from Hadley. It appeared to be in the shape of a Mirror but the spirit's essence was so faint that she couldn't tell for sure. She blinked and her normal vision came back into focus. Fallenstar honestly didn't know much about the tundra watchdragon besides that he'd been a knight in his old clan and that something happened to make him leave. She bit her lip and glanced away, "Well... thanks I guess." He nodded silently but she caught his tiny nervous smile from the corner of her eye. That smile did not comfort her, instead it made her even more jumpy. They reached the edge of the ruins a few moments later. Hadley nodded her on before disappearing back into the fog. She watched him go in apprehension because wasn't sure if Hadley was entirely trustworthy. The faint spirit from before seemed to pause to look at her before fading after the Tundra. 'Strange...' Fallenstar thought to herself, puzzled. It was rare for her to be unable to identify a ghost with her sight. They couldn't hide from her unless they were exceptionally old or powerful because she saw their true forms with her vision. That's just how it worked so either that spirit was powerful or... its true form was hindered by some terrible burden. She frowned to herself but then shook her head. Now was not the time to be investigating ghosts. She had a clan to save. Fallenstar came to the Bridge of Havens, the entrance to the bamboo forest of Twisting Lights. It crossed the river Ardwin that flowed throughout the ruins towards the cliffs to the south. The two rainbow colored skydancers that normally guarded this gate were nowhere in sight and that troubled Fallenstar even more. They were the gatekeepers to the forest and were supposed to keep it safe at all times. She stepped quietly onto the dragonmade bridge and glanced at the forest. The bamboo glowed green softly and gave off an eerie vibe tonight. The Twisting Crescendo swirled in the distance above the forest which was how the name "Twisting Lights" came to be. The clan was then named for this forest alone. Taking a deep breath, she hurried into the trees trying not to act conspicuous. The glowing of the bamboo allowed her to find the path towards the middle woods to the lairs that decorated the outer edge of the inner trees. "Fallenstar," A deep voice spoke up from behind her. She froze, trying to keep her breathing even, and slowly turned to see a large white and blue imperial staring down at her. It was Spade, her coliseum mentor and trainer. He was training her to be the clan's new Mire Flyer. She bowed her head once to him and said, "Master Spade, I have the treasure we earned from today's hunts." She held out the bag to him and he took it without words. She took a polite step back from him as examined the clan's profits. After a moment, he glanced back at her with a stern expression, "Go and clean up after yourself. I will report the earnings to Electra." "Yes sir," She mumbled. Spade was never this cold to her, in fact he was never cold with anyone. Typically he was the life and soul of every party; an eternal optimist. Could he be the impostor? She glanced at his cold features once more but looked away quickly when she caught him looking at her.

I shall be back with the lore!

(Please review my clan's land lore for references in this story to orientate yourself. At least look at the map I made. It should explain some things.

Also, Fallenstar can see the spirit world overlayed with the real world. Basically she can see ghosts and the auras of things. See her bio for more information on that.)

Lore

Fallenstar crept quietly through the Fen Ruins nervously.

Taking a deep breath and glaring up at the tundra who had come to stand beside her, she whispered resentfully, "Shouldn't you be staying out of sight?"

Hadley, appearing mildly bemused, scratched his chin, "That lady Nocturne told me to make sure you got though the ruins alright before...uh...sneaking around back." The Tundra's eyes shifted nervously but not like he was frightened by anything looking to attack them from out of the fog.

She bit her lip and glanced away, "Well... thanks I guess."

He nodded silently but she caught his tiny nervous smile from the corner of her eye.
