How important is cleanliness?[/quote] there are many communal and private baths in the tunnel system, but sometimes adult dragons hop off the meteor and sit in the ocean for a while. everyone runs on their own personal cleaning schedule, and the lair is the same - if one area gets particularly messy (and it's not an occupied residential cave) someone ends up cleaning it. cleanliness is fairly important, especially because the tunnels are so complex that it's easy for a nasty smell or sight to arise. cave maintenance is def important

How important is cleanliness?[/quote] Cleanliness is highly stressed about. The clan sees being dirty as quite improper, and will give you more than just a few upset looks. The most common place dragons bathe in either the communal or private baths provided, but some of the dragons prefer to go to the lake running through the clan's territory and bathe there, despite the risks. Dragons should bathe everyday. Dragons who prefer to be cleaner will bathe twice a day each daily. If a den is messy or dirty, it is up to the dragons who reside in the den to clean it. If a mess is made in a communal area, dragons are selected at random and have to clean it.

How important is cleanliness?[/quote] We certainly appreciate cleanliness! There's no strict laws about staying clean, though it is considered rude to just never bathe. We're on an island surrounded by crystal clean water, so there's really no excuse to neglect personal hygiene. As for the lair itself, Ninka often cleans after familiars with the help of volunteers. We highly encourage everyone not to litter and they will be disciplined for trashing up the place with junk. If one does not stop littering even after several lectures, they will be asked to leave. Personal hygiene is one thing, but keeping our environment clean is something we take very seriously.

Felt like answering a question today, and according to the thread rules, old questions are fair game. So, I'm giving this one a shot: [quote] How are dresses seen in your clan? Who makes them? How are "naked" dragons viewed?[/quote] In the opinion of Hoarfrost, only dragons who are ashamed of their appearance make an effort to hide their bodies. In short, she dislikes the idea of dresses, or of any heavy or concealing clothing whatsoever. As the self-proclaimed "most beautiful" dragon of the Unrepentant Clan, it stands to reason that her opinion on such matters should be respected. Many other dragons agree that dresses seem like a thoroughly pointless indulgence, though for a variety of reasons. Silverslash can't fathom the purpose of non-protective or restrictive garments. Quake wears only what he must to camouflage himself during hunts. The ex-mercenary Snappers feel that armor itself a decorative statement. Nightshade is vain and obsessed with beauty, but even he has no desire for smothering garments that would hide the perfection of his scales. And Typhoon, for all her elegance, refuses to wear anything substantial enough to impede her flight. Dresses are not readily available within the Clan of Second Chances, merely because there is no call for them. They aren't even highly valued as part of a treasure hoard, and when acquired are often sold at the earliest possible opportunity - after all, coins and gems are far more useful. In the Unrepentant Clan, a "naked" dragon isn't viewed any differently than one wearing complex apparel. In fact, nearly every member of the clan goes without clothing once in a while, merely for the sake of simplicity and freedom. A dragon may choose to be "naked" at any time, but such behavior typically occurs en masse during the lazy days of early autumn. Days when Gore wears merely her spectacles, Venom forgoes his hat and scarf, and even Chaos extricates herself from her tangle of rainbow ribbons. It is on those days when some accents are revealed to in fact not be apparel at all - Thundercloud's wooly coat, tail, and antennae are in fact a natural part of her body. The same is true for Landslide's crimson feathers, and of the feathers of most Tundra dragons in general. Dune never removes his blood-soaked bandages, and Wither never removes the covering over her rotted eyes, but these are matters of personal health rather than matters of style. The Clan of Second Chances accepts the natural attributes that a dragon possesses. They have nothing to hide from one-another. There is no judgement passed on the crimes that they have committed, so why should judgment be passed on their bodies or their clothing? Their views may be considered controversial or even uncivilized to outsiders... but pointing that out is a sure way to end up injured, tortured, cursed, or killed.

Our bond is what keeps us safe, keeps us strong. Bickering and fighting are an unimaginable social offence. We solve all our problems in consensus, so everyone gets what they want. The notion of arguing over something is seen as ridiculous and childlike.

Only Krova has an assistant, because he needs one and Lykell (The serthis who assists him) is in it for learning about medical practices and reports back to her original clan about once a month when we're in the area. Because of Vinten's reign, and the fact that most of us lived through it, we don't want to be told what to do anymore, and trying to control our lives is highly offensive and most of us won't tolerate it. We'll admit, yes, it's a bit of paranoia talking, and if it looks like someone is being ordered about, one of us is likely to step in and stop it to prevent such a horrible period of time to reoccur.

Joking about sickness is something the lair takes very seriously. Near the beginning of the clan a plague called the "Great Ravage" came and wiped out a large majority of its members (it was a lair clean out), including the lair's first leader and only leader before the matriarchy took power. Ever since then sickness is taken with the utmost seriousness, the sickdens are cleaned daily, and new healers are constantly being trained. If a dragon were to joke about sickness, while nothing bad would happen to them, most everyone would be highly offended and a few nasty remarks may be given.

And as we've mentioned before, we don't tolerate littering and take cleanliness of our island quite seriously. Any kind of discrimination against breeds or elements is highly discouraged here and we ask anyone who cannot coexist to leave. And of course, we don't tolerate any form of theft or domestic violence, either. Those are some of the first things the guards look out for.
