Creative Corner

I was inspired by a youtuber I watch to create a fanmade Pokemon region as an excuse to learn random things. Somihe is a region based on the five great lakes of the US and Canada, Lakes Superior, Ontario, Michigan, Huron, and Erie. Quick Disclaimer: This area had historically had indigenous populations and still does to this day. A lot of places, including the lakes themselves, were named after native american people and tribes. Due to this, I believe that native american folklore should be represented in the designs and names of the Pokemon I make, just as I do with lumberjack folklore, or the folklore of those who have come here. That being said, I am not myself part of that culture. I will do my best to be respectful and do my research, but I am not perfect, and I would like to improve. I will take any concerns and criticisms I get, especially ones from members of any cultures I may be pulling from to heart and try to correct as best I can and be better moving forward. I'll also link any sources I can find when I take influence from any culture. To start, here are the starters!
