Starting as a single family teaching their child, it grew into a large school and the city you see today. It’s in Whispwillow Grove deep in Shadow flight territory, and the blue lighting creates an atmosphere many find unsettling. However, many stay due to the acceptance that both the city and school practice, and having easy and affordable access to everything needed to live there. Every celebration is celebrated in grandeur, each one getting its own festival with all sorts of games and tricks. Dragons from other flights get to showcase during their flight's celebration. Trickmurk Circus is always a step above the others though. The entire city gets decorated, often dragons will dress in costume and spend most of their time playing tricks on others. The games take a turn for the sinister, and boundaries are pushed during the week of darkness. The dragons within are a wide mix. Besides every flight being represented, there's many different walks of life within the school and city. While those with less than pure intents thrive in the environment, there is the occasional exception. However, its much more likely that your neighbor holds a deeper secret than you expect. Started by the founding family and named by their child Noa, Eclipse still strives to uphold the founding family's ideals of accepting all, prioritizing education, and learning from each other. Eventually, Noa became a teacher there and talked about the naming process (it sounded cool at age 13) and why they decided to keep it that way(to remember their parents). Generally, if you start to pull pranks in class you will just get kicked out for the day. Outside of class however, anything goes. You’re going to want to be careful which lights you follow and which doors you trust. Within recent years, they have been working on getting teachers from multiple different flights, to teach their own magic to others of their flight who show up. The school motto, discite et meridiem, translates to ‘learn and glow’ but the true meaning of it is lost. [center] [url= https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2180269][img]https://i.imgur.com/jISYT8s.png[/img][/url] [font=cambria]Since it does focus on acceptance and is known for being a reputable school for magic,it ends up being a corner for misfits, travelers, and intellectuals alike, all looking for something different. This leads to a wide range of views, backgrounds, and goals. While there are many from other flights, it still takes a specific kind of dragon to stick around.

[center][b][font=cambria]City[/b] [Item=stardust sap lamp][Item=Trickster's Magic Cards][Item=Shadowbinder Onyx Idol][/center] [font=cambria][font=cambria]It's hard to build a city that accommodates every type of dragon but Rutilan makes a solid attempt. It looks like multiple towns stitched together, with different parts of the city having wildly different sizes and styles of buildings. Many smaller buildings have outside seating with holes in the roof for larger dragons to stick their head in. All glow with the telltale blue of the mushrooms in Wispwillow Grove. You can find just about anything there, with a very high percentage of specialty shops. Don’t trust every corner you turn or alley you pass however, many truly embrace what it means to be shadow flight. [center] [url= https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2180269][img]https://i.imgur.com/jISYT8s.png[/img][/url] [font=cambria]Less of a city and more of a massive collective based around the school, Rutilan has few laws and regulations, with the understanding that everybody gets treated with the respect they deserve. Force isn’t unheard of or shied away from, but if other options are available, then that would be the priority. The ‘government’ is a collection of community members, representing the school and different flights within the collective. Primarily their jobs focus on organizing trade, planning for festivals and teaching at the school, and all spend time each work communicating with their community to make sure all needs are met. He is also in charge of chronicling the city's history. You can often find him copying down freshly discovered or translated documents for the library. [b] Emble[/b] - Emble is a truth-seer, awkward and quiet. Her words hold a lot of power, and she holds a lot of respect within the community but doesn't know how to interact with people on a casual basis. She goes on just about every ambassador trip. [b]Saphira[/b] - Saphira is in charge of the schools library, helping students find books for research papers, while also copying and editing her partner, Blaise's, notes and findings. She's almost constantly reading, and will happily chat your ear off about any subject no matter how obscure. [b]Blaise[/b] - Blaise is a researcher, but thats a polite term according to him. He experiments, with anything that he can convince others will help the school. His notes are undecipherable to all except Saphira. He feels stifled in the clothes he is supposed to wear to show his rank, and would rather dress down. [b]Domono[/b] - Domono is the head of the forge, teaching students who are interested and fronting a shop to the rest of the city. He especially loves teaching, and is always pleased when a students project turns out how they want. [b]Annabel[/b] - [/columns]

Nobody even knows what flight they are from or what gender they are, let alone a name. [b]Artemis[/b] - An adamant necromancer, Artemis fights hard, often surprising their opponents. She moved to Rutilan with her family after struggling for years with being shunned for being weird. Now she goes to school with lots of other dragons like her. [b]Jaysen[/b] - Jaysen is usualy seen shopping, and is royalty from a faraway clan, and decided to stay after visiting. Many find him annoying or uppity, but he's doing his best to settle into a very different living situation. He works hard to understand why his title isn't recognized. [b]Maka[/b] - Silent and forbidding, an assassin for hire who has said very little to anyone in the town. Usually, they just stare with all of their eyes. They occasionally pick up jobs with Deceiver. [b]Sunnis[/b] - A student who loves practicing all kinds of magic. Most of their practicing ends up bothering half of the town or blowing something up on accident. While it's always accompanied by sparkles, they spend a lot of time apologizing and sweeping things up. [b]Flowering[/b] - In charge of a large nursery and flower shop, but known to host the occasional party. Flowering is kind, and very charismatic, talking in front of people and presenting to them comes completely naturally to him. He has talked to just about everybody in town. [font=cambria][center][b]First Family[/b][/center] [center] [url=https://www.deviantart.com/ghost-echo/art/F2U-Candles-628135016] [img]https://i.imgur.com/tfcH4by.png[/img][/url] [/center] [font=cambria]Starting as just a family moving to a new area and teaching their kid magic, their vast knowledge became well known and others came by to pick up a lesson or two, occasionally setting up a tent nearby for longer stays. As more and more people came by, including a few more families who were teaching their kids magic, they decided to work together to open a school. The founding family, first last and first last, let their kid, Noa, name the school and the Eclipse Crystal School was born. There were very few qualifications to get into the school. Be accepting of others and their differences, want to learn and don’t be cruel in class. The last one has since been dropped as a rule and is more of a suggestion. There are questions still to be answered like, where is the family originally from? Why did they pick Whispwillow Grove? It’s said they built a self-defense system around their land, that the city is now sitting on. Very little is known about it, but it might be why the beast clans usually avoid the place…

[center][b]Beastclans[/b][/center] [Columns] [Item=Flamescale illusionist] [Item=stonestomp spearmaiden] [nextcol][font=cambria] Some beast clans get near the city, serthis, and centaurs with the occassional talonok, threaten those who travel near it, they tend to leave the city itself alone. It's unknown why they leave the city alone, maybe they know something about the self-defense system? Occasionally, some will peacefully come near the city but tensions are still high [/columns] [center][url= https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2180269][img]https://i.imgur.com/jISYT8s.png[/img][/url][/center] [Columns][font=cambria] Centaurs are most common to see within the city and occasionally, the school. They trade and sell rare items. There are rumors one or two of them actually are students in the school, for the express reason of access to the job list. A few weeker serthis have been known to enter the cityin search of help, but serthis are most commonly spotted patrolling near the city, surprising traveling dragons.
