Those who laid eyes upon them might say their veil devours all light that falls upon it, a dreadful sight most instinctively seek to avoid. And rightfully so... [i]A sinister corruption has taken hold of these lands.[/i][/columns] ---------- [columns][color=transparent]xx[/color][nextcol][center][size=5][b]OVERVIEW[/b][/size] [br][br] [b]The Veiled Isles[/b] are a small collection of islands gripped by a shroud of darkness. In a past long gone, they were simply an island group with lush, untouched wilds, known to few if any. All this came to an end when a meteor of pitch-black coloration impacted in the dead center of the main isle. A wave of corruption swept across the surface and wormed its way even into the depths of the land, twisting all it touched in horrific ways. No creature, no plant, not even the dirt was safe from this calamity. The mountains that were destroyed by the impact quickly rose once more, now made of stone with crystallized veins so dark it seemed to devour the light that fell upon it. Whatever failed to adapt to the new conditions was swiftly put down and devoured down to its very essence by those that succeeded in the endeavour. It were those very conditions that made it uninhabitable and undesirable to all.. except those shunned by the world for their similar corruption. Demons, as they were called and adopted as a name for their condition, soon found themselves thriving in this twisted landscape. veiled isles are still not exactly a tourist hotspot unless you're a bit crazy or some kind of researcher/whacky scholar
demons got a main settlement and smaller village-esque places dotted across the isles
they're kinda cynical jerks with questionable morals and humor
leadership is made up of essentially a council, assisted by a group responsible for communications to make connections
