it worked and as for this guy, I actually really love the tail, what'd you base him on?

@Ceilingfen - I wanted to make an aquatic water based dragon so I looked at some pictures of prehistoric fish for references and came across the dunkleosteus. I used that as a basis for the head shape originally. I gave him a typical lizard/feline type of body and looked at lion fish spines and fins as inspiration for the wing and tail fin shapes. For the color I looked at sharks, mainly the whale shark. I was going to put lighter spots on him similar to a whale shark's, still might.

I have some old concept sketches of him lying around somewhere, if you want to see them I can try and dig them up.

Cat thing. I was going to give it antennae or antlers or something but...eh. Happy New Year! I was busy, so I haven't taken the time to write any comments lately - but now I'm loving the holidays: I can write as much as I want, haha XD

Just wanted to say that I am extremely impressed by how far you have grew throughout your digital art journey! From the time you shared us one of your first digital drawings 9 months ago to your latest illustration, I have been enjoying your art. I hope you can celebrate the new year by being very proud of your artistic achievements of 2019! \(^_^)/

In those 9 months, your digital lineart has become a lot smoother and cleaner, and your shading is definitely much more detailed and defined :D I am particularly stunned by your latest shaded artwork (the beautiful black/white dragon)!
I also noticed that your anatomy is a lot more naturalistic and realistic than it once was:
Great job on continually practicing, experimenting and just drawing! :D You should be super proud of yourself ;3

Your creatures have such creative designs that I always love to see (I'm strangely fond of your cat thing's body shape, hehe!)
