TOPIC | Familiar Coloring Contest Discussion
Okay so I originally posted my peryton with an eye shine, and later removed it at the suggestion of others... but now I'm seeing folks telling me that coloring a pupil (with no line art) is also against the rules? I don't know what to think anymore, to be honest.
I don't want to get rid of the colored pupil I have, but I also don't want to risk disqualification? What should I do? Have the admins actually answered this question and I just haven't seen it?

My wip.......and my first attempt at entering anything on here.....it's taken me days to get this far.....I would appreciate any advice....etc.....also, @Undel since it seems it has yet to be clarified, are we supposed to colour the pupils/eyes or not?

@Thraka I don't know if the admins have said so already, but I wouldn't. If they wanted pupils, they would have added the art for it. Otherwise you'd have familiars with eyes that are never consistent with one another. Plus, there's other familiars on here already without pupils, so it's not like it's unusual for FR.
@Emmie As I said to Thraka, I think it's safest to assume no

I thought about doing a Mith, and then a Peryton, and then a Hainu... but one day I remembered one of my favourite animals ever, the quagga (images not mine)

They were a cousin species of the zebra, but heavy hunting wiped them into extinction :c they're trying to sort of 'remake' the species by selectively breeding zebras (look like this), but nothing will ever replace the original and unusual quagga.
So, here's my Quagga Beast :3

I want some advice. Real quaggas had a completely white tail, but for the purposes of the familair, does it look better with brown on the tail? I personally prefer it without, but I didn't know if maybe it would create a nice balance.

Edit: Here are two more different versions, as I see that some Quagga illustrations and photos show them having white stripes on their faces and necks
With brown tail:

Since I'm not sure about it- is the way I coloured this considered shading? I tried to make it with gradients, but if that's too much or anything, I'd better change it than be disqualified TT_TT

Feel free to ping me for any tips, help is greatly appreciated as this is the first time I try to do something like that ;;w;;
