Hey! Just a little question and potential clarification. I probably have done or understood something wrong. Every time I post dragons with effects in the forums, they always turn into fallback images. For example, if I post three dragons, perhaps one of them displays properly or none at all. Other times I post only one or two dragons and neither of them work. The window "[DRAGON NAME] is displayed as fallback image due to an error while loading [EFFECT NAME] effect." appears frequently. I have only a few dragons with effects. I have been posting them in the forums since effects were launched. Sometimes they work and sometimes they do not. I don't understand what is going on. Effects work for me everywhere else, Game Database, Dragon Profile, but not always in the Forums when posting dragons with effects. This happens with my dragons. I see dragons with effects posted by other players properly in the forums. Sometimes some don't work as intended but most of them work. The main thing that is bothering me is the inconsistent. They work and don't work simultaneously. I have been trying to understand why is this happening. I have Windows 11 and Firefox (135.0.1) in use. My problem may be related to this but I'm not sure because of the inconsistent working.

Thanks for the report @HenryTheArcher. It sounds like you might be bumping into the page limit. From the announcement:

Page Limit: To avoid overtaxing older devices, only a limited number of effects on a single forum page will render. We have manually limited this to 16, but this may change in the future as we gain a better understanding of the feature’s performance. Additionally, some browsers may impose an even lower limit.

(emphasis added) If this is happening on pages without multiple effect dragons, there could be a separate limit set by your computer that includes all WebGL instances currently running in all open browser tabs. For this reason we encourage players not to add too many effect dragons to a single post. It's not a hard rule, but it will cause less disruption - especially for those players that have computers with even lower WebGL limits.

It's not a hard rule, but it will cause less disruption - especially for those players that have computers with even lower WebGL limits.
I've hit this a lot and it's left me discouraged from even using the effects widget to share my dragons, mainly because once the effect fails to display, my dragon doesn't even have a click-through link to their profile anymore. Now I have to look at the thread and see how many other users have used effects before posting in my own, or go through the extra step of adding another link to my dragon profile in case it doesn't work. Or just share the normal widget. It's just a lot more cumbersome than a widget really should be. Some users will practically post their whole lair in dragon share even when asked to only post a small number. That's always been kind of annoying but not a problem per say, but now it's forcing me to rethink whether it's worth the effort of sharing my own dragons in the first place. Would it be possible to: 1. Auto-provide a link to the dragon's profile if the effect is disabled. Or 2. Instead of a 16 limit per page, impose the limit on user's posts? So one post could only have 2-3 effects before they use the static image.
It seems like it auto links to the dragon if the fallback image is used already- But I'm seconding the idea of auto limiting a player's post to a certain amount. It's kinda ridiculous that one person can "ruin" a thread page by adding too many dragons and thus force everyone below them to use the fallback image.
@breathe2 - Please post any suggestions to the Suggestions Forum. I can confirm that @StarDay is correct: the fallback widget already provides a link to your dragon, along with a tooltip that lets you know what you're seeing is a fallback. If you aren't seeing this nicer fallback, you may be using a device that has a WebGL limit that's lower than the one we impose (16 effects per page).

Just saw this from a bug thread by Fairgrounds- I don't think this is intended behavior.

The bug goes like this. I haven't tested this to confirm it's occurring....but sounds like this is based on the programming for the widget.

1. Post dragon widget (Effect version).
2. Remove the effect from that dragon after post is made.
3. Congrats, the fallback image has NO link now! :D

This could be particularly annoying as users would expect the effects dragon image code to work like the default widget, which works regardless of the dragon's state.

This dragon is displaying an cosmetic effect. What follows is the item description: The tides are shifting... this item obscures an entire dragon and its apparel in translucent bubbles, while refractive patterns of blue light ebb and flow across them. Like apparel, skins, and scenes, effects are purely cosmetic items that can be added and removed from dragons at any time.
