When replying to a thread, I can't use the little tree icon to post a picture, [b]B[/b] to bold, etc, if I have already typed something into the textbox. When I try to click the buttons, the selection cursor comes up and I can highlight a copy of my entire post out of the textbox.

I use Windows 10, Microsoft Edge.

By any chance is this happening while the laptop is in tablet/touch mode? Can you check if the issue remains when using a mouse and/or track pad input with the device in standard desktop mode?
Here's how to force it between modes if you're not sure which mode is currently active:

This is a surprising issue - it's almost like you're seeing autocomplete text.
I assume that you do not see this behavior when you try to write a PM, correct?

If anyone else is having a similar issue, the cause in this case was tracked down to a Grammarly Extension on Microsoft Edge. Disabling the extension resolved the issue for now.
Hopefully, the extension will be updated soon and it will no longer cause this bug.
The Grammarly Extension on Google Chrome does not appear to have the same problem.
