[u] Breeding Pairs This gorgeous pairing’s Hatchlings are deep purples and blues, and remind one of the many Royals that are found throughout Myths and Literature. If you would like to see the exact possibilities they have color-wise, check here Pairing Lore Irador and Artemis. The ultimate romance. They completed each other perfectly: Irador was the disowned Prince of a Nature Kingdom, and Artemis was a powerful Arcane sorcerer. Though Irador was haughty and formal, Artemis loved him anyway. He was also quite thorough, and this perfection satisfied Artemis, who couldn’t stand imperfection. On the other hand, Artemis’s grace and ingenuity won over the sometimes inflexible Irador. His loyalty and her passion were like two unstoppable fires. As their romance grew, so did their family. The match wasn’t as picturesque for their Hatchlings. Growing up in a family where the father never acknowledged what they did and was always stiff and a mother who critiqued any imperfection was unhealthy for the little ones. Yes, their parents cared about them, but it didn’t show as obviously as some parents’ love. Some grew up cold and dark, while others rebelled in any ways they could. Still more adopted their parent’s formal ways and siphoned out any of their feelings. Their heritage, along with their Birth Element, made many of the Hatchlings leave the Clan of the Aeolians. Nearly all of Irador and Artemis’s Hatchlings inherited her grace in the sky, while some also gained Irador’s nature magic or Artemis’s unusually strong Arcane magic. Either power is dangerous for a Dragon who has felt underappreciated all of their lives. Beware, these Hatchlings, though beautiful, may lead somewhere dark in the future. [pinglist=15401] An Elvish Song pairing look like Elves straight out of Rivendell! (In Dragon form) There are four pairings of this set, and gives a lot of variety from Imperial to Nocturnes to Skydancers. Elves are known for being some of the most powerful, wise, and beautiful beings in the world, and these Dragons certainly show it! The Links to their offsprings’ color are here: Earendil (Skydancer) and Arya (Nocturne)–An Elvish Song Horizon (Skydancer) and Orne (Imperial)–An Elvish Song Jade (Imperial) and Emerald (Imperial)–An Elvish Song Breeze (Nocture) and Meadow (Skydancer)–An Elvish Song [pinglist=15393] This Elvish pair is a bit different as they are the protectors–the Warriors. These Elves are prepared for battle; some boast opal armor, while others are extremely strong. The most powerful armies are those that have Elves after all! Here is their full color range! [pinglist=15394] Wisp and Figment’s hatchlings are called “Swords of Yore” due to their metallic colors and sheen. Knights who wield such a glorious beast would be much feared on the battlefield! The full armory of colors is visible here. [pinglist=15395] Mirkwood Myths is a bit of a different version of Elf-inspired Dragons, and is more akin to dark wood Elves who stay deep in their own worlds. Their Petal genes also point to their love of nature and of trees! Click here to see their color possibilities! [pinglist=15400] Opal and Silme’s Hatchlings are based off of the Dwarves’ love of gems and jewels! Black like the dark of a mine, but scattered with glowing, gorgeous, gems! Though they will always be XXYs with the X as Obsidian, there is a wide range for their Tertiary Genes. Look at them here! [pinglist=15397] Interstellar Imps is based off of actual Imps, not Imperials! These mischievous-looking hatchlings will brighten up anyone’s day–or their lair. Not only do they look like pranksters, they also have the Starmap gene, which reminds me of the many Myths behind constellations, such as Orion. You can find Nebula and Lunaire’s hatchling colors here! [pinglist=15399] Ashen and Shula’s hatchlings are based off of the Myth of the four seasons. Demeter, the goddess of agriculture kept the world green and growing. When Hades kidnapped her daughter Persephone to be his queen, she began to mourne and the world became cold and dead. Finally, a deal was made where Persephone was allowed to come home for half of the year. Thus, in Spring and Summer Demeter was happy and the world was green and alive. However, once Persephone returned to the Underworld, Demeter’s grief overwhelmed her. The plants would start to change color, wither and die until Persephone’s return. These hatchlings look like the fall leaves that signaled the beginning of Demeter’s sorrow. Look at the full color spectrum here! [pinglist=15402] These hatchlings are based off of the Mistborn Trilogy. Their Sarcophagus Secondary combined with the Flameforger Tertiary makes it look like mist is wafting off of their skin, just like a Mistborn cloak! Also, their Metallic Primary genes bring to mind the Allomancers of Brandon Sanderson’s incredible Trilogy. See all the color possibilities of Viper and Midnight’s hatchlings here! [pinglist=15425] One interesting story in Greek mythology is the story of Aphrodite and Hephaestus. Long story short, all of the Greek gods wanted to marry Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Instead of fighting over her, they decided to have her marry the crippled god Hephaestus, the god of metalworking. They did this because he didn’t care as much and it would stop the fighting. Hephaestus and Aphrodite’s marriage didn’t end well, but these little hatchlings have both the colors of love and the colors of metal, a union between two very different things. Check out Eclipse and Pastel’s babies color possibilities here! [pinglist=15512] This pair is based on Antique Writing Sets. Think feather pens, inkwells, and, most important of all, Wax Seals. Their primary colors reflect the ink, their secondaries and tertiaries the wax seals. A Fantasy Aesthetic wouldn’t be complete without the image of a cozy day, writing letters on faded paper, and sending them out to a friend. Here is where you can find the full kit of colors! [pinglist=15528] The Inheritance Cycle is an incredible series, with plenty of Dragons to satisfy us all! Of all the Dragons in Eragon, none is more iconic than Saphira. Interestingly enough, Christopher Poalini, the Author of the books, is slightly red-green color blind. This means that he actually saw Saphira as what we would consider purple. Thus, the tribute to Saphira! These hatchlings vary in range of colors from bluer to more purple, and each might be the color of just one Scale on Saphira Bjartskular! The full range of blues and purples is available to see here! [pinglist=15529] Alchemy. The Medieval Art of turning lead into gold. Ultimately, it turned out that it was impossible. But in Fantasy, nothing is impossible… These Dragons look like lead turning into gold, just as in the dreams of the most talented Alchemists. With two pairs, Coatls, Imperials, and Skydancers, there is a lot of variety to choose from with these precious little ones. They will only breed Obsidian/Gold/Gold hatchlings, so no need for a link here! [pinglist=15731] The Knights of the Round Table were King Arthur’s Legendary knights. They came in every color: The Green Knight, Black Knights, White Knights, and so on. The different colors symbolized different things. Red symbolized power, passion, and strong warriors, whereas blue symbolized purity, wisdom, and loyalty. Black was grief, constancy, and death, whereas green was life, youth, and hope. From this wide range of colors, there are endless combinations to write the story for your knight! Here is their full color range. Pair Lore Dawn and Brier’s hatchlings are brought up from two entirely different upbringings. Brier is relaxed while Dawn is formal. This shapes these Dragons to be very unique and colorful. They elected to remain immortal, but because they had set foot on the Blessed Realm, they were unable to ever return to mortal realms, and were destined to sail forever in the sky as stars. It must have been very difficult for Eärendil’s wife to wait for him on the shore, yearning for his return, watching the Raging Tides. Eventually, she came for him instead, and they were able to be together for eternity. These Hatchlings are reminiscent of the Raging Tides, lapping around someone’s feet, as they stare out to sea. This gorgeous pairing’s Hatchlings are deep purples and blues, and remind one of the many Royals that are found throughout Myths and Literature. If you would like to see the exact possibilities they have color-wise, check here
Pairing Lore
Irador and Artemis.

Interstellar Imps is based off of actual Imps, not Imperials! These mischievous-looking hatchlings will brighten up anyone’s day–or their lair. Ashen and Shula’s hatchlings are based off of the Myth of the four seasons.

These hatchlings are based off of the Mistborn Trilogy.

One interesting story in Greek mythology is the story of Aphrodite and Hephaestus.

This pair is based on Antique Writing Sets.

The Inheritance Cycle is an incredible series, with plenty of Dragons to satisfy us all!

Alchemy.

The Knights of the Round Table were King Arthur’s Legendary knights.

Their colors are here!
Pair Lore
Baikal is a very quiet father, while Arwen can be critical of others. This means that many of their Hatchlings grow up feeling under appreciated or as if they will never measure up. This isn’t true—Arwen and Baikal both love their Hatchlings dearly—but there is much fighting in their Den. Many of the Hatchlings, feeling smothered by the somewhat oppressive atmosphere leave to find a home free of arguing and criticism.
