TETRA'S TYPEWRITER ~ Lore Shop ~ |
|
Status: CLOSED
clackity click clack click. you approach the scribe stall a bit apprehensive, unsure by the sight of a banescale bashing their horned head against the keys of an old battered typewriter.
"uhh, hello?"
the banescale yanks their head up to look you up and down in one swift look. they turn their head to bark a wordless sound at some unseen assistant - you catch a glimpse of their open mouth, and the lack of tongue within. so it's less a surprise when they type out their response to you rather than speak.
whatcha writing you need done, friend?

Port threw the kid down to the ground again, easily. They wiggled and lashed out with claws and teeth, thrashing their tail, but the wildclaw evaded the slow, predictable attacks almost lazily. She held them pinned until— "Fine," they growled, slumping back. "You win." "Again," Port said, hopping back to let the mirror up. When the kid's tail twitched in annoyance, she added casually, "Unless you're feeling tired already . . . ?" They snarled and lunged, swiping claws at Port's face. The wildclaw sidestepped gracefully and smacked their head lightly with her wing as they passed before swinging around to meet their enraged charge— because, yes, of course, that's what they did. "Face me for real!" the mirror roared. [ Keep reading... ] |
Pencil kicked the hatch open and dropped down into the tavern, flaring her wings at the end to slow her fall. She landed lightly, the mechanical whirr of her steampunk devices giving a gentle buzz as she folded her wings neatly to her sides and pushed her goggles up off her eyes to survey the room. The occupants of the tavern glowered back, eyeing her dusty gear and dustier scales over hunkered shoulders and dirty mugs. She perked her crest at them, and walked to the bar. "Mug of your cheapest," she told the barkeep, slapping two pieces of treasure on the splintered wood of the counter. "I have to be back in the air soon." One coin was bent in the middle, and the other had half its markings rubbed off. The gaoler behind the bar didn't even look at them. "What're you doing in these parts, shelling?" they asked, voice whisper-soft yet easily heard in the grim silence of the room. "This place ain't for couriers like you." [ Keep reading... ] |

Hiya! Welcome to my lore shop :3 I offer two options: stories and haiku!
The two examples above are snippets of stories I've written for my own dragons. You can find more examples of my clan -here- and there's a whole thread of lore I've written for others right -here- !
Examples of haikus are featured in the bio of my dragon Perirr. As a note: These are more experimental than stories, as I'm practicing an artform I'm less experienced with.
Info/Rules
Short Stories
Short Stories
- Story length ranges from 500-1500 words
- Stories feature your FR dragon characters
- Stories are written in third person and past tense by default (okay to ask for something different)
- I do not do bios
- I generally follow canon FR lore, as far as I know it. If you'd like different bits of your own rules in your story, tell me in the order form!
- I do my best to incorporate whatever previously-established lore you have for your dragon and clan, and I may slip in interactions/references to other clan members or your dragon's familiar into the story. The more information you include in the order form, the more accurate your resulting story will be
- There are two order forms included, for whether you have an already developed character you'd like a story for, or if you have a blank slate with little to no lore attached. If you pick the developed character form, you may leave blank or put N/A for any field you don't know about
- That said, I may or may not use all the additional information provided on the form, due to word count and plot restraints of the story. i.e., you say yes I can include the dragon's bonded familiar, but I may not incorporate it into the story
- If pronouns are left blank or N/A, I'll likely use they/them
Haiku
- Follows the 5/7/5 syllables-per-line format
- There are four categories: description of the features/appearance of your dragon, their personality/job, relationships to others, or as a mini story/scene from their backstory/present day. Refer to Perirr for examples of each
- You may request a specific tone for the poem (e.g. silly, spooky, peaceful). No specification means I'll go off my best judgement or what I feel like writing that day
- Can be more literal or more symbolic!
General
- Finished orders will be published on this thread with your username pinged so you know it's done
- At no extra charge, I will do small edits if you'd like, for spelling/typos/other mistakes () or small changes you'd like. No major rewriting, however
- Once slots are full, do not submit a dragon. However, you may ask to be placed on the pinglist. Pinglist gets pinged when slots open and when changes/announcements are made to the shop
- Wherever you use the lore, link back to my profile to credit me
- I'm allowed to refuse any submissions or cancel any orders
- I'm allowed to use the lore I write for you as examples/advertisements
- I am subbed to the thread - do not ping

owo, what's this?
as you reach out to accept the parchment torn from tetra's typewriter, an invisible claw slips a colored photograph atop the order. it's, well, a little blurry, but undeniably a scene from the scribed story. where did it come from?
tetra laughs at you, reaching out with their wing to pat the head? of some unseen individual. their shop assistant, you assume. the banescale types out, and shows you:
BOOP'S JUST PRACTICING ITS PHOTOGRAPHY. DON'T WORRY, THE 'GRAPH'S ON THE SHOP!
you shrug, and dip your head in the direction you hope is at the elusive "Boop". thanks?
