- tetra's writing/shop assistant. generally stays invisible (an ability it was born with, doesn't require a spell), and will grab things for tetra, then otherwise perch up high to keep a lookout
- gets nervous around most other dragons, due to trauma/abuse in the past
- can repeat sound back perfectly, so will listen in to whatever conferences/interviews tetra attends and memorize what's said, then echo the words back when they're typing so they can get it down exactly
- tetra never meant to adopt it, just makes sure it's fed and has a warm, safe place to sleep (most often under their wing), but at this point? they'll fight to protect it, and they're the closest thing it has to a parent
- is rather chatty when it's just it and tetra, usually when traveling. boop will chatter up a storm while tetra can only grunt back, making for an amusing scene to an onlooker
- when first introduced to the marble jar, was incredibly nervous around them and just stuck to tetra's side, whereas the marble jar was curious about it and accepted it as one of the gang. over time and multiple visits, boop has relaxed and feels more comfortable hanging out with various members of the gang, though it usually only talks to tetra still

- called marble jar cuz there's an old glassblowing forge half-sunken down here. many marbles make their nest in there, call it lair/home. and they even got it working again! all they can craft are small spheres, but they sure are fun to play around with
- other gangs in the pipeworks sometimes do raids on the forge, which is why marbles gotta defend it, and also organize raids on their lairs!!

- grimy slag and magic, mixing all together and left to rot
- scraped together out of trash and ill-used spells gone awry
- worked in cinderslag and died due to the poor working conditions. sickness, injury, neglect, workplace accidents. lots of dragons get tossed or slipped down or happen to find there way into the pipeworks, either to die or survive
- those that die get their bodies scavenged by other slag, or sometimes those that die . . . patch themselves back together
