@CrowHarlequin great! A couple questions:

do you want the story to be about her coming to your clan or should it be before that?

do you have a specific place she is coming from in mind?

@CrowHarlequin Here you go!

watching the sun set over the water was Pearl's favorite moment of every day. As the sun runs from the world to leave it in the dark unknown, she feels the most certain and in touch with the future.

She sat on her favorite rocky pillar on the northern edge of the Ashfall Waste, as she did every evening, and meditated. No visions had come to her quite yet, but that wasn't abnormal. Her visions had a mind of their own and she knew pushing them was a losing battle. She opened her eyes to see the glowy world, hearing the slosh ocean and the magma coordinate around her. When she looked down, she saw two little spiral light siblings playing in the water. Not too far away, she saw her clan on the shore doing an exaltation ceremony. Three of her clanmates were off to serve the Tidelord, and she knew shed never see them again, but she didn't know them all that well.

She gazed at her clan before a shriek below her drew her focus away. Her head snapped to the hatchlings, but she quickly realized it was not the hatchlings in the present. Pearl saw the two of them back in their clan, whispering behind a tree. The smaller one was crying and begging, "Please, I don't want to lose you. Don't let them do this."

The larger one gave a compassionate look but sternly said, "You wouldn't be losing me if you did your duty and came with me to serve the Lightweaver."
The smaller one cried, "but sister, you are not going to serve anyone, you are going to die, you-"

The larger one pushed the smaller one away and walked back toward the clan. The smaller one ran the opposite way out toward the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Once she was out of view of her clan, she flew out over the sea, but her emotions overwhelmed her and she let herself fall into the water.

As Pearl heard the splash, her view came right back to the hatchlings below her. She shook her head. She hates seeing the pain of others, but there is nothing she can do to change it. She's tried. Every time she does it just causes more pain and frustration when everything happens as she saw it.

The sun was nearly gone as she heard the blow of a conch shell. The ceremony was over. She meditated as the last sliver of the sun left then flew back to her clan. Her best friend, Fen, noticed her flying back to her home and met her there.

"Any good visions tonight?" He asked her before she had even completely landed.

She shook her head. "Only depressing ones." She slumped onto her bed.

Fen sighed and sat next to her. "I'm sorry," looked down at her lovingly. "At least the sunset was perfect tonight, right? I bet it was even better from your spot."

She looked up at him and gave a slight smile. "Yeah, it was pretty nice."

Fen grinned and reached to touch her shoulder. "See-"

Pearl, with a rush of information, jumped back at his touch. She refused to accept the vision she just saw.

Fen frowned. "I really hope you didn't just see what I think you just saw." He hung his head but kept his eyes glued to his friend, waiting for a reaction.

With teary eyes, Pearl asked, without looking up, "So you are considering exaltation?"

He nodded. "I keep feeling a call deeper and deeper into the waves. I think it may be my purpose." After a few moments of silence he moved closer and asked, "are you angry."

Without looking up, Pearl shakily said, "There's no point in me being angry about what I forsee, I would do just as well to be angry about the past." She stands up straight and begins to walk out of her home.

As she walked away, Fen softly asked. "Wait, how far did you see? Do I- do I actually go through with it?" Pearl cries a little harder but won't turn around or stop walking. She feels not only upset that she will lose her best friend, but dirty for seeing his exaltation, something no dragon is supposed to see.

"Pearl-" he calls after her, but at the sound of him saying her name, she broke out in flight. She wasn't sure where she was going, if anywhere, but she needed to not be home for the night.
