I won’t say never, but Iridescent and shimmer are all colored by hand and as a result are very inconsistent and difficult to make. We are unlikely to choose these genes for ancients. We will continue to support them for future moderns as the modern gene needs to be able to work on every modern breed.

Taking this chance to ask... is a iri/shimmer rework in the air at all, or a distant thought? I know a lot of people discuss it since a lot of the older breeds look a bit rough compared to newer ones, aka guardian vs. obelisk.

This is very bad issue.
I love this plan! Especially the coliseum changes. Cause having them all broken up seems to make it harder to get the gene in the form I want.

Will you also be halving the treasure cost of Modern Baldwin genes with Ancient counterparts, or are Ancient Baldwin genes suddenly going to become just as expensive as Moderns?
Reducing the materials needed is all fine and dandy, but unless I misread something (lmk if I have) then this is just going to make Ancient Baldwin genes twice as expensive as they are now. Which... kinda defeats the point of 'ancient genes cost less than modern genes'
