It looks like there's two rows of blades on each wing, both outside and inside. If you look near the top of the wings, you can see that some blades are behind them.

[/quote]True enough and you're more than entitled to, but I'm still not keen on it. The blades should maybe alternate or just stay under the wings as that gives it an assassin quality while having them on the outside gives them a more offensive feel. Having both feels... awkward, dangerous, haphazard.

yeah the gene isnt worth the gems if it's not gonna be consistent. i'm not spending 500g on something that doesnt do what its supposed to do.
but my main thing is like - saying that it doesnt work on the wings literally makes no sense? coatl wings are 100% feathers and it works just fine on them?
my feelings are that if koi was going to be a design problem from the start for veils - [i]why waste time making it[/i]? we dont NEED every modern gene to be parallel for every ancient, especially if for some (arbitrary) reason they wont be completely compatible. that time couldve been spent putting it on abbers or banes instead (i have a feeling gaolers wouldve ran into the similar issue of incompatible wings + koi doesnt go on manes issue)

And while I do understand the artists logic--it really doesn't make sense to have [i]fish scales[/i] in hair and on bug wings--as you've said, it's already been done with all moderns. Maybe they were afraid of ruining that gorgeous glitter hair??? Not really trying to defend them so much as I'm trying to figure out what the logic was here. It is rather senseless to introduce an all encompassing tertiary to a dragon that's 70% secondary most of the time. I guess Koi is supposed to be the companion gene to StarCon? It does look like Nebulas, but their hair is extremely different to modern breeds:
