TOPIC | Night of the Nocturne 2017
Yay, NotN!
I like the new familiars, even if the there isn't a lot of them. Vistas are very nice, especially happy to see that Animated Statue one, it's one of my favourite NotN familiars. While I'm not that into... 'jester aesthetic', the apparel looks great and I can imagine at least one of my dragons wearing it.
My only complaint would be about the gene - I loved it at the first glance, and I still like the concept, but it looks... kinda unfinished? Or like 2013-2014 quality? Especially with the current trend to make genes more intricate and realistic - Smirch stands out as very simplistic. There's barely any shading or texture. Circuit may work like this since it's supposed to be a pattern on the dragon, but Smirch is supposed to be something the dragon is covered with; Crackle, a very old gene, looks way more convincing than Smirch in this regard. The very simple gradient glow doesn't help. Still, I wouldn't call this gene bad... I just wish it could be corrected/developed a bit more, though I don't count on it. There was potential for much more.

Love all the new familiars and trinkets!! NotN is definitely my fav holiday, too. ^^
