Loki is a Norse god and a prankster too. No, he doesn't do any of those silly, pathetically small tricks. Like swapping the salt and sugar around, hiding fake spiders in closets, trip wiring doors so that the opener gets water dumped on their head. He likes them to have more grandeur and such puny tricks are not worth his time—unless he's really bored, of course. While he does enjoy playing his pranks on clanmates, most of his tricks are played on innocent travelers passing through or by the clan. He's convinced them that this area is haunted, and is amused by the fact that some still come through this way, doubting the words of those who already have. While Loki sees the pranks as harmless fun, there's still one dragon he is hesitant to prank and rarely does. Nanse, his mate. The closest he usually comes is covering her room in her favorite trinkets. One of those things is feathers, which are easily scattered into the air by a careless shift of a wing. It's no where near as chaotic as the prank war Loki was in with a visitor a few years back; now that took a while to clean up after. Short Story A sly smile. A quick, yet quiet step. Mischievous eyes. A flicker of magic. These were all signs that Loki was at it again. The Trickster had had to earn that title, you know. This time it was a nervous tundra and her centaur friend, walking down a now unused dirt pathway. The centaur was calm and quiet, while the tundra was the exact opposite: panicked and jumpy, yelping fearfully at every noise. Loki smiled, pleased that the reputation of this land was getting around. Tales of this land being haunted had sprung up over time. Oh, he hadn't told any of those tall tales himself—but that didn't mean he wasn't responsible. Quite the opposite. Slipping through the shadow, he silently walked closer. One would wonder how a dragon of his size walked through the dark forest without stepping on even a twig. But if that same one continued to watch they'd be shocked when the shadowy outline of the imperial simply vanished, a crow soon flying out from where it had been. “Hah, hah hah,” the crow cawed mockingly, eyes glinting. The tundra whipped around, her own eyes widening as she took in the crow with her gaze. “Le-let's...let's get out of he-here,” she stuttered as she backed away from the crow, prepared to bolt back the way they came instead of pass by the dead tree the crow now rested on. The centaur simply shook his head “no” and tugged on her, telling her to keep on walking. “Do-don’t you kn-know what a c-crow means? It means death. We can't go that way.” She said fearfully, tugging back. But the centaur insisted, determined to get through for whatever mission they were on. Finally, she relented. Letting him quickly lead her past the crow that sat ominously on the only dead tree in sight. “Hah hah,” the crow suddenly squawked out as it swept off the tree and dived at them. A piercing scream escaped the tundra's lips as she jumped away. “Hah,” the crow said again as it landed on another tree, shifting his wings. The crow stared at them as a harsh howling wind picked up. It was to much. The tundra broke out into a desperate sprint. The centaur struggling to catch up to his panicked friend. Secretly, he was glad to be away from the crow too. Neither glanced back, so not a soul saw a Imperial standing where the bird had been. Nor did they see the glow of a spell as he cupped his hands around his mouth. They never knew it was him who spoke the haunting words that seemed to echo from everywhere at once, saying in a haunting, chilly voice “Run! Run! Lest death catches you like it did I. Run!”
