The Hollowed Shell
By Claire
At one point, his name was Druid. He was, for the most part, a rather ordinary Snapper. He could often been seen slowly meandering his way around the Mirrorlight Promenade, silently sorting through centuries of information stored deep within his brain.
One could imagine then, he wasn't very hard to capture. Especially when one puts a rather ferocious looking Emperor in his way. It really was rather easy to be honest.
It would seem our friend Druid was in for a nasty surprise. You see, Finch, our resident psychopathic genius, had an idea. He fancied the thought of removing a great, hulking Snapper brain, and sifting through his or her memories. We won't get into the mechanics of that particular part of the experiment, as it turned out rather messy...But our dear Finch simply couldn't let such a behemoth go to waste, or worse yet, wind up in Grimm's pot.
So, Finch did what he does best. He put together a great and powerful monster. He articulated every single one of the Snapper's limbs and joints, wiring, forging, rewiring, and finally completely controlling each and every movement. And all with a few simple presses of buttons and pulls of levers!
But this just wouldn't do...Finch is a busy dragon. A very busy dragon. He simply didn't have the time to devote to making this machine a truly valuable asset to Titan's clan. So, he did the next best thing. He built a central control unit inside of the Snapper's now empty skull, and gave the keys to a highly intelligent Duskrat. It really was one of his better ideas. The rodent really does seem to enjoy himself when deployed on a mission.
Last but certainly not least, Finch called his creation Droid. He thought it was both fitting, and slightly amusing.
