Biography
L E S H Y Gatekeeper Refined | Secretive | Careful Hidden Beneath |
Power and prosperity had been his once long, long ago in another life, in another time. The brilliant rays of sunlight had touched upon him, blessing him with the power to grow, flourish and inspire. In time he had raised an empire, strong and ever-expanding, the future was in his claws to shape as he pleased, but change always lurks around the corner. There was a sickness, a rot, taking root in his empire, he could feel it in his bones, see the shifting minds and hearts of his followers. Fear gripped him, turned him mad as he watched his followers grow angry and turn on one another. Walls crumbled and great infernos blazed through the once immaculate streets as everyone fled until only Leshy remained, grief-stricken and mournful. Now the king of nothing sitting atop his throne of rubble and disappointment, there was only one thing left for him to do: move on. With his eyes glowing and tears streaking his visage, he stood atop the highest tower of his empty, desecrated palace and released all of his energy. Great hulking roots suddenly ripped the ground apart beneath the buildings and reached up like angry, writhing tentacles. They wrapped around the lonely palace, tore through houses and paved roads, and like long, grasping fingers began pulling the entirety of Leshy's empire downwards towards the earth. Deafening cracking and rumbling were the only sounds echoing through the empty streets as the roots devoured his home and returned it to the earth below. Finally he stood atop nothing but rubble, as though it had never been, a memory that now belonged only to Leshy himself. He shed himself of his gold trappings, his silks, his jewelry, and headed for the only place left that would take him in with open arms: home. Rallying at the heart of his birthplace, he has taken up a new, more humble role in a different clan, a clan made up of faces from a past he had almost completely forgotten about. Gardeners and nurturers these dragons know nothing outside of the Viridian Labyrinth and live only to serve their deity. It's a simpler life but one Leshy has embraced. He toils along with these familiar faces, not one knowing of the heartache and loss of his past, rather he is now a simple servant of the Gladekeeper just as the rest of them. He stands guard at the gates to this more modest palace, using his past experience and knowledge to keep watch over any dangers that may pass through. He thinks it sturdier than his own had been, this palace is made of branches as opposed to stone, it's roots digging deep into the earth keeping it alive and stable. Seeing the unyielding strength of life and the tenacity of growth, he has faith that it will outlast any stonework. |
