Aeterna wasn't supposed to have much of a voice, much less a personality and emotions. Wasn't supposed to have, therefore he is an anomaly that the rest of the clan's engineers and scientists tend to steer clear of, not that Aeterna minds. They could've just shut him down, but he guesses they didn't do so out of some weird ethical morality.

Aeterna, despite his looks, is a soft-spoken droid. He doesn't have much to say about anything, and generally stays quiet. He prefers to be in the company of others, however. Unfortunately, this can be rendered difficult, due to a bug in Aeterna's programming, that causes him to go on uncontrolled, raging rampages, activated by certain ticks. Being the strongest droid the clan has, controlling him can get difficult.

His paint-job was a courtesy of Venus, in an attempt to make him look dangerous and prevent anyone from taking advantage of such a soft-spoken droid.

He ran away.

Made himself a new life separated from his past. A new life where others assumed he was quiet because that's how he was, and not because there wasn't anything much happening behind closed doors. A new life where others thought his twitches were because he was nervous, not because he was deteriorating from lack of maintenance.
