Biography
SAGE
Illuminating Guide |
|
B I O G R A P H Y
He started to lose his plumage colours again to grey and white and never got better; other coatls within the Plague Flight looked with sorrow upon the poor sick hatchling and felt the pain of how this poor thing was unable to get better in this rotten land. Some even felt trepidation and fear that the young one would eventually succumb and die to the contaminated land. But Sage never gave up despite his faded plumage. He kept growing between being sick and being somewhat healthy enough to continue on; learning to fly and channel a bit of magic to sustain his life a little longer in the world. Any dragon would look helplessly upon the poor coatl that was struggling to survive in general. Adulthood couldn't have come sooner for Sage; his struggle for the entire time with such weak and faded plumage was a challenge. But gained enough energy to try to travel towards The Abiding Boneyard in hopes on his journey he could find a better place to recover, to explore and in hopes to find a cure and respite from his pain. He travelled long and far as long as his body could take him, each day that went by, he felt weaker than he could have been the day prior. Eventually he grew tired and rested himself among a few bones in hopes it would shelter him; unable to move anymore, he closed his eyes and was never able to open them again, or so he thought. |
GUIDING LIGHT
Close to giving up, Sage noticed a light in the distance; he followed it and as he got closer, he saw a lantern. He looked around and there were more lanterns, deciding to follow them as it led to another dragon. There was another coatl that wore clothes something like a shaman would wear. The dragon spoke with a soft female voice, asking Sage if he realised what he was and what he was doing here in the in-between. Sage was confused and wanted answers; the female coatl explained her job of guiding spirits that succumbed to the diseases of the land onward to the great beyond. He wanted to go to the great beyond in peace, but the female offered him the role of being the new Guide. Sage was confused as to why he would take up this role as a spirit that would guide other spirits or even others that were just lost. The female explained how she did this role for as long as time existed and that she was too tired to continue and wished to rest with those she helped. Sage understood how tiring and alone it could be to continue this role with no help, he accepted and saw the female give him clothes similar to hers. Once he puts the clothes on, he was given a few lanterns that used to guide him and others; he watched the female coatl smile before disappearing. He was the new Guide for the Plague Dragons, his plumage became bright reds, purples and yellows, giving a beautiful glow. He would now guide deceased spirits to the beyond and even living dragons somewhere safe. The stories of the lanterns within the Scarred Wasteland became a legend that passed down for generations, Sage refused to give up this role no matter what, he found his eternal calling.
