Eurydice
~Traveler~
Uh-oh, looks like this independent lass wandered a little too far from her lair (Amarayne, #17102), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. Euridice is the only living child of the imperials Grimm and his first mate Alastrian. Distraught after losing her, Grimm became reclusive, though with his little daughter he was overprotective and overbearing. Frustrated with her father's strictness and worry, she longed to get out and travel, seeing the world and learning how to take care of herself so that her father wouldn't baby her anymore. The first place she decided to visit was the dense, jungly overgrowth of the Shrieking Wilds, cloaked in darkness so different form her home lair on the western shore. Her heart sings with the freedom of this place as she see's many new dragons who welcome her with open wings. The founder Moss a strong Guardian teaches her the ways of the Nature flight, taking time to introduce her to the Lair Dragons. Eurydice settles in to life soaking up everything with the eagerness of a hatchling. Eurydice enjoyed so much getting to know all the dragons in Rewinddreams clan, but realized there is so much more to see. She said farewell to everyone and flew off feeling excited for what is to come! She landed next in the shifting expanse. She fell right in with the FantasyFreak clan. The dragons there treated her well, but she was so eager she couldn't help but take off once more to see the world. One blast of wind too far, and Eurydice found herself in the Southern Icefield. She stayed with the dragons of Rhiain's lair, all of them extraordinarily friendly and kind. While it was a very welcoming lair and she felt a strong pull to stay longer, Eurydice fancied herself a lair hopper and decided to take flight yet again a few days after landing. It became obvious to Eurydice all too well how untimely her arrival at Clan Huldra was. Although victors in a great war against Water, Wind and Earth, this Fire clan was still licking its wounds after the many losses they'd suffered – some of the dragons here mourned friends, others their own children, experiencing the kind of loss no parent should ever have to go through. Perhaps Eurydice's father wasn't so unfair to worry. Perhaps it had been reckless of her to leave just like that – what was he thinking now? Was he missing her...? Did he fear the worst? Perhaps he was even out there, looking for her, putting himself in danger's way? Perhaps... perhaps he'd even been in the war? Perhaps he was... no. No. He mustn't be. She had to make sure he knew she was alright. And so she wrote him a letter, and settled in the Fire Clan to wait for his reply, fearing that there might not be one. She met him as she was waiting for the letter from her father - a blue Skydancer with a kind voice and a sweet touch. He was such a great listener, and she found in so many aspects she herself had. Triton was his name, and she couldn't help but to adore him. He comforted her when she worried, and rejoiced with her when her father's reply reached her - Grimm was alive, and he'd sent her a Purple Birdskull Necklace. They would have left then, but Triton who had just arrived asked to stay just a bit longer and soon, strangely soon, the both of them found themselves guarding a nest of two eggs. Time later, the eggs hatched into a sister and a brother, Isolde and Tristan. Isolde felt the call of Shadow early on and left in secrecy to devote herself to the Shadowbinder, while Tristan remained in the Fire Clan as both his parents left. Eurydice traveled with Triton to an ice clan, where a fierce blizzard stranded them for a long time. She appreciated the clan and their care to make her extended stay as comfortable as possible, but she only grew more and more homesick. When the storm cleared enough to send a courier with mail through, she took the chance to write home and ask to return. It was still more weeks until the snow melted enough to travel, and she took the opportunity after profusely thanking her hosts to set off for home. She was greeted by a very happy father and eager clan, and spent most of her first day back telling and re-telling her travel stories. For now, however, she wanted nothing more than to be back home, near her father.
