Ona Starseer

Ona's insatiable thirst for knowledge has supplied him with many facts, theories, and in-depth information about a wide array of subjects. He is happy to share this information with anyone who asks, and is often the one that inspires the other Water Bearers to begin their studies. Caution, however, has never been his strong suit, and he has gotten into serious trouble with Chanter for suggesting dangerous studies to young and inexperienced dragons. It's not out of malice that he encourages these risky experiments and expeditions - Ona just likes to know that others are learning and exploring the world around them.

Chanter likes to say "If only his foresight was as good as his eyesight.", referring to Ona's obsession with staring up at the stars and planets above. He truly does have impeccable eyesight, able to pick out individual stars and even (alignments provided) some planets with the naked eye.

Ona's studies drew him out of the Star Wood Strand while he was still young, ignoring multiple warnings about the dangers of making any kind of significant journey as a Fae. Predictably, he never got very far in his travels. Several long, hard months of scarce food and avoiding territorial wanderers later, Ona came to rest by a lone Fae's nest in the Crystalspine Reaches. This cheerful Fae called herself Chanter, and readily shared her supplies with him.

It wasn't long before Ona found himself unwilling to leave Chanter's side - she was such a kind and fascinating individual and it felt to him like leaving would be a wasted opportunity. When he found out about the tragedy Chanter had endured, it was all he needed to make up his mind. Ona settled down with her and agreed to help her rebuild what she had lost.

He encouraged Chanter to teach him all about her family history and hung on her every word. The ways of the original House of the Age of Aquarius captivated Ona. The concept of having a natural connection to one type of knowledge interested him in particular. Although his evidence was anecdotal, it still rang true for him and he could see it in the dragons that joined them later on. He wanted to know more about the subject, despite knowing that it wasn't his resonance.

Chanter told him about a clan member who had briefly taken on an apprentice who showed an unusual ability: A resonance with soul-based energy. A resonance for resonance! It took him a while to track her down, even with Chanter's help, but when they found Calci they were not disappointed.

This was the rebirth of the House of the Age of Aquarius. A survivor and her mate and a very eccentric sibyl. From there on it was simply a matter of chance - dragons with strong natural resonances seemed drawn to the lair. Ona immersed himself in dedication to his resonance, taking a specific interest in cosmology and the Arcanist. Although the House has no true leaders, Ona's word is greatly respected and he does his best to figure out how to use this power responsibly. Being neither a leader nor a follower, the process has not been easy for him.
