Marmorata
Brewer/Knowledge Collector/Shadow Root
From a young age Marmorata had an insatiable urge for discovering, but less physically. Adventuring around the world, fending off any beasts he would maybe come into contact with along the way, having to socialize more than needed...it's simply just such a un-fulfilling idea. His sense of discovery came in bouts of scientific knowledge; Books. Why do things work the way they do on their own? What does this do with that? Why does that happen? And perhaps not with this other thing? It's endless possibilities to be explored from just a handful of subjects. As years passed by, however, his interests wavered. Reading what others had found out already wasn't enough anymore, he wanted to partake in his own experiments. Things he could control and witness himself, not just words on paper!

Marmorata wanted a fresh start, clanmates he didn't know. Those that didn't know him.
He had some personal conditions, some harder to find met than others through out the clans he toured. Eventually, he did manage to find one that was lenient enough, but also held some security to their perimeters.
Within these walls he manipulated a young woman into believing that he loved her enough to devote time and motivation into finding a cure for her blindness brought on by her gembond. Earning a child with the same mutation from birth, so that he could learn so much more about gembond under different circumstances.

As time passed, however, he grew from an eccentric knowledge collector to a drained robot. The clan has learned about him, and he about them. He can sense and feel everyone's watchful eyes on him, waiting for him to slip up inside of his own nasty life...tiring him out.
Everyone's morals within the clan are so opposite from his own, and everyone else knows it as well as he does.

As long as he is discovering and recording, he feels 'happy', though. What happens to others in the process, isn't his concern.

Eventually, someone had enough, however. A warrior who had taken a liking to his longest standing test subject. She'd had enough of his ways and his games, and their tireless agressive banter finally snapped between each other. The warrior slayed him, putting him into a rest he thought he'd wanted on impact. Marmoarata's death broke apart the small, but peaceful, clan...Something to do with their protector killing one of their own in cold blood destroying their bonds. As well, his death...did not last. He doesn't know why he's still 'alive'. He hates it, but there's hardly anyway of getting around it. Perhaps this is his punishment.
