MATED TO IRULAN
Red Lightning gave his Mimic Familiar to Ao Guang to guard him as a fledgeling, while the Ridgeback was away visiting the Ashfall Waste. By the time he'd come back, he had forgotten about it. It was eventually passed on to (or, in the way of Ridgebacks, acquired by) Red's brother, Rapier, when his own Familiar had awakened.
The second (or perhaps third) dragon of the lair to succumb to the strange 'frost-touch', Ao Guang wears his icy sheen with pride. Of course, as an Ice dragon himself, he can only feel it an honour and a blessing from his god. Ao Guang earned his Frigid Sash by 'rescuing' Irulan, preserving their race and the honour of a fellow Ice dragon. It might have been an arranged match, but both parties are very satisfied. There may be little semblance of deep emotion between the pair, but Ao Guang is unfailingly courteous and attentive to his mate, and Irulan admires him with a gentle fondness.
[Named for the Dragon King of the East Sea in Chinese mythology, whose astrological manifestation is the Azure Dragon.]
