Lantana wound up among this ragtag band of dragons for no other reason than that he wanted to. Got some wanderlust, found a mate, wandered the world a bit, and settled down with a fire clan because, really, it wasn't much different from the earth clan he grew up in. Just a lot hotter with more lava and a significantly reduced number of ridgebacks. And, really, the clan is a good size, a friendly bunch, and quite accepting--what's not to like?

Lantana and his mate Maple serve their clan by hunting. It's an easy but delicate affair--one false move and their fragile little dinner for that night could be reduced to pancakes instead of gently impaled through the heart on a claw--but the challenge is part of the fun. It's quite a tactical affair, as one must take into account when the limit of an area has been hit, how to keep the ecosystem balanced, and when to call it quits. It's an affair he relishes in, to be frank. It's enough power to keep him satisfied.

Lantana is a friendly sort of guy. If he's not out feeding the clan, he's spending his time with his mate or socializing with the other members of the clan. He's fairly well-liked by most of the clan for that reason, and is a great advocate for the needs of the many. Though he insists on each member of the clan taking personal responsibility for themselves, in causes that benefit everyone he is often the figurehead. He has a quite sarcastic sense of humor, which, for the fae members of the clan especially, is not always a good thing. If you ever hear an angry buzzing in the caves, make way; it's probably Lantana pursued by a horde of disgruntled fae he inadvertently insulted.
