A traveling artist who came to the Sea of a Thousand Currents to paint the beautiful vistas of the remarkable inland ocean, Sketch eked out a living subsisting from commission to commission in pursuit of pursuing his passion. He found regular customers in the scientists of Beta, who frequently require an artist's depiction of their inventions or findings in order to send their research for review to experts abroad. When Sketch had satisfied his curiosity in the sea, he was ready to move on to somewhere new to inspire his art, but Beta had begun to rely on the young Obelisk. Aranea offered him a deal: stay on as an employee in Beta's archive, and the Acquisition Division would keep him supplied with paint, canvas, and-- less fun, but most vitally-- food. Though the young artist was loath to lose his freedom, the decision was ultimately not very difficult.

Stuck in place, Sketch indulges his stifled creativity by drawing interesting visitors or intriguing finds from Acquisition, who have come to informally allow him to tour their stores without a permit. Though most of the dragons in Beta are too familiar to continue to pique Sketch's artistic interest, he can often be found at Carnation's Cafe sketching its charming proprietor.
