ARANEA "Now I set myself to work, the Stormcatcher I will not shirk, and if I die while on the line, I pray my labor satisfied..."

Once, many years ago, Aranea was a packless Mirror dragon wandering the Shifting Expanse. She met Pallas, a Tundra in a similar predicament, and with him received permission from the Stormcatcher to start a small clan in the Highland Scrub, registered as B18022. As the years passed their clan grew into one of the more successful Beta Class laboratories, and grew a reputation for having planned for every possible scenario. Unfortunately for Aranea, an investigation eventually revealed how prepared they really were - B18022 had been working with Lightning's enemies behind their Flight's back in order to ensure they would flourish no matter what faction won Sornieth's battle for dominance. Their resulting exile was inevitable, but Aranea took it poorly regardless. Despite the mercenary direction the clan had taken under her leadership, at heart Aranea was obsessively devoted to the Stormcatcher, and saw no real conflict between her selfish actions and her devout beliefs. During B18022's rise to the top she had even undertaken the complicated process of becoming a Ridgeback, a form invented by her beloved deity, in order to better show her devotion. Even in exile, she works tirelessly to invent a weapon that will once again earn her the approval of the Stormcatcher - no matter what it takes. |
