she isn't dating Althalos - much too busy with all her flowers and bees - but they nest together and raise their hatchlings amidst Mallory's cottage away from home. though they officially live amidst the Fireside clan, Mallory spends a majority of her time in her cottage garden, tending to all kinds of flowers that she'll doubtless bring back home so share amidst her clanmates. Althalos spends more of her time in the molten caverns, but enjoys the vacations to go see Mallory's hard work. they joke that their hatchlings should all be blacksmiths - with how easily their obsidian-black points are mistaken for soot-stained faces - but in reality they grow up so surrounded by nature that the volanos and caverns of their supposed home feels strictly unfamiliar
