Tierno Mechanic 25 years | Male | Pansexual Born into a harsh, unforgiving world, Tierno lost his parents at an incredibly early age. Because of his age, he would have died had he been left alone; he had no idea how to live on his own, or how to take care of himself. For days he wandered endlessly, crying out for parents he no longer had. It is believed that most of his emotional and mental setbacks come from being alone at such a young age. Just as it seemed all hope was lost, Tierno was finally taken in by two good Samaritans who had been unable to have their own children. Because he was their only child, he was smothered with love and affection, and also had a fairly sheltered life. He has trouble realizing when he's being bullied or taken advantage of for this reason. Tierno's adopted father is a mechanic who owns a small “Mom and Pop” mechanic shop. Thanks to this, he quickly developed a love and talent for machines. He is a mechanical genius, so to speak, though his intelligence extends to other fields of knowledge as well. He is good at taking gadgets apart, which he loves to do, but not so good at putting them back together, which is a bit more complicated. While he can usually get the gist of it, more often than not his reconstructed gadgets have a fatal flaw. He likes to make changes and add things to the original blueprint, which may or may not be helpful (for example, a toaster that shoots fireballs – cool, but not practical). Tierno has never been formally diagnosed, but it quickly becomes obvious to anyone who talks to him for more than five minutes that he is autistic. He tends to infodump about machinery and gadgets to anyone who will listen, talking at a mile a minute. Unfortunately, his mouth has difficulty keeping up with his ever-racing brain, and he often ends up sounding like a cellphone with a bad signal as his mind disconnects from his mouth. He will go off on tangents and talks on four different subjects, because his brain jumps from one track to another without much pause in between. Thanks to his autism, he has incredible difficulty reading social cues and the body language of others, which can lead him to be uncomfortably blunt and brutal with his comments. He is usually very honest, but honesty is not always the best policy. In general, Tierno is very trusting and generous. He is a nice guy, even if he is brutally honest at times and bad with social interactions. Because he is so trusting, he often gets taken advantage of without even noticing. However, Tierno has a very black and white sense of morality; something is either good, or it is evil, with no in-between. Thankfully, he works in a job where morality doesn't come up often, so he is kept from making difficult moralistic decisions. Currently, his father is grooming him to take over the shop, and he dreams of turning their small shop into a mechanical empire. Tierno has his adopted parents, but no other family to speak of, no mate, and no children. |
