Biography

Epidemia
Epidemia is an epidemiologist who has come from the Scarred Wasteland in hopes of studying a particular strain of egg rot, the one that struck the Shifting Expanse a long time ago due to eggs not properly acclimating to the static in the air. However, she is interested in many past epidemics, as well as preparing for the potential epidemics of the future.

She has a lot of interest in egg rot in general; it has always been the main focus of her studies, ever since she initially began studying epidemiology. Her studies in it have made her paranoid about the future generations, and she is desperate to save eggs from the potential plague. She frequently confers with Thundia about the specific strain of egg rot that struck, her main area of study, and Thundia is always quick to reassure her that there are efforts being made to prevent egg rot from wiping out generations, and while her assurance does soothe Epidemia's nerves to an extent, she still remains obsessive about studying it, just in case.

Epidemia is oftentimes anxious about how close her name ties into her area of study; she is afraid other dragons will make fun of her for naming herself after her field. However, it's actually the other way around; Epidemia's interest in epidemiology stems from her attempts to research the history and origin of her name. Epidemia would not be an epidemiologist if her parents hadn't named her after the field.

She has a deep fascination with goth culture. It is one of the few things that can solve her anxious nerves. She tunes into Taline's radio show frequently, and finds Taline's talking about goth fashion and music to be both educational and soothing. Whenever Cadfael tries to cut out Taline's signal, Epidemia is one of the few dragons willing to confront him about it and argue that Taline isn't hurting anyone. Epidemia is usually a meeker and more anxious dragon with high nerves, but nothing infuriates her and makes her more willing to put her foot down than Cadfael cutting out the radio signal.
