She used to love stained glass. The artistry it took to create a moving, beautiful peace from glass was endlessly amazing in her eyes. She wished her wings took on a brilliant purple, or her body a clear blue, to look so breathtaking she would look like a living stained glass mosaic. She got what she wished for... Her talons clicked on the marble floors, echoing across the home of her own, unique design. Colored light shone through the windows, painting the white floors with stories of joy and heartbreak, mingling with the sun's rays. Across the empty halls were towering pictures of wars between magic, bolts colliding with bolts. The next panel depicted a reunion in a battlefield, with two scarred lovers flying with tattered wings over a red ocean. |

Crash. Everything went dark. The last thing she heard that day was the soft thud of an egg on the floor. She gripped onto it for dear life. She awoke on the soft forest floor, clutching the egg like a lifeline. A tender leaf tickled her face, which, when she opened her eyes, sprouted from the egg. She smiled. And then, the pain set in. Broken glass was all over her body, though none of it was sticking out. Panels of her beloved windows, broken by this egg. Who threw it? |
