Note: Facioscapulohumeral (FSHD1)(?), feature harness in reference (under the vest)
Relations:
~ most hospital staff (typically keeps everybody at an arm's lenght, fears engaging way too much may be a detriment to him long term)

- Valet (crush, but still hates his guts), Kral

wants (conscious): to establish a large company, grossing plenty of treasure to invest in various projects | needs (subconscious): somebody to be his shoulder to cry on |
concepts:
- even less expressive than Faes usually are due to muscular dystrophy(?) he experienced during his childhood (genetic) - fins form something between a deadpan and confused expression when content / neutral;
- has some difficulty walking without support and doesn't fly often, but that doesn't mean he can't take care of himself;
- has a slight crush on Valet, his long time rival (finds him quite attractive despite all of his rude remarks) - Schell despises that (thankfully, Valet hasn't picked up on that... yet);
- used to be an accountant at his previous job;
- founded the hospital in hopes of showing he doesn't need ARGINE, it's a blow to his pride + feels immense dread whenever he needs to take a bigger loan from "King" (Schell sometimes wonders if he took a wrong turn in life)

CHILDHOOD Spent it in an orphanage as a result of his parents' poor financial situation. Weaker due to muscular dystrophy(?), he had a hard time keeping up with his peers. However, his caretakers didn't treat him any different. This also extended to not giving him any accommodations or tending to his physical limitations. Suffice to say, they were as strict to him as to rest of the unfortunate hatchlings who ended up there. Seeing how much beratement misbehaviour would bring, he learned to keep quiet. He took out pent up frustration by correcting fellow kids when they supposedly broke rules, following their caretakers' example. It may have helped the caretakers to perceive him in a better light, even as an equal on some occasions. On the other hand, friends grew to dislike his law-abiding persona and grew more distant with age. FLEDGE On account of meeting criteria for further education, he was sent to a nearby vocational school that prepared students to work for one specific company. Alongside his peers, some of whom he knew back from the orphanage and some from the outside, Schell learned about the job market in Lightning's domain. One thing he grew to love was accounting-based tasks and budget management. Whether it was purely out of mere satisfaction or a need to pay off student loans, it made getting through the day easier. Thanks to the influx of homework, he stopped bothering classmates about their rule-breaking behaviour and focused on studies instead. Still, his critiques remained harsh. Thus, he had few true friends. To get a head start on clearing out his debt, the Fae began offering math tutoring for a small fee. Unfortunately for him, he forgot that specific facility was strangely against students starting their own entrepreneurship or anything that would qualify as one. With more "customers" using his services each passing week, the possibility of being revealed to faculty increased. Just as he was about to graduate, he was taken aside and prohibited from attending his ceremony. Apparently, a professor caught wind of what was happening thanks to a whistle-blower. Furious for possibly raising competition for their brand, they quickly suspended him, lowering his chances on the market. All the funds he had collected were used to pay off loans, basically rendering him broke and without the bachelor's degree he strived for. He returned to the orphanage for two more years before he was sent out to wander the streets. ADOLESCENCE He managed to get by, eating roaches and bracing his weak limbs with rags. While searching for his next shelter, he would pick up newspapers. Once read, they would be used to take notes and revise anything he had learned at school. In a way, it helped keep his mind off his unfavourable state. Setting his sights on a home, he started visiting various job agencies. They limited him to unskilled labour, considering the lack of paperwork. However, his affliction prevented him from being a valid candidate. This was because most of the applications required physical strength. Defeated, he caved in and decided to take up undeclared work. It ended up being a decent decision on his part. With the money he saved up, he managed to rent out a dingy apartment. It wasn't much in terms of comfort, but it was better than braving the streets at night. Schell found himself working for one specific person rather frequently. They were a rather infuriating, vain Skydancer. They made snarky remarks at his expense and didn't let him speak. Unless spoken to, of course. He kept returning just because their pay was better than the other employers'. So, he would take note of the Skydancer's spending habits. All the while, they knowingly annoyed him to no end, as if they were curious to see what made the Fae tick. He thankfully didn't relent, remaining as quiet as he did back in his childhood. This seemed to have an effect, leading the Skydancer to stop pestering him. Needless to say, his quality of life was improving. Schell got to know his neighbours fairly well, bought regular groceries for once, and even took part in a local chess club. All the while keeping his illegal odd jobs running in secret. Speaking of which, he intended to break off any connections to them. Once he finally got the chance to retake his exams, he would finally live as an upstanding citizen. That moment was approaching closer, as he had bought old textbooks and the funds were near completion. That is why he felt utter dread when it was taken away from him. By the very Skydancer that recruited him. To this day, Schell abhors having let his guard down. Valet, as he made himself known, offered the Fae a deal. He would get the license he craved, a place to stay away from hoodlums, and an honourable job to boot. If the Fae didn't comply, Schell would be turned in to the authorities. It felt unearthly, considering Valet seemed to know the Fae was just about to abandon his way of life. It all clicked when he realized his tasks were nonsensical in nature. To him, it was a situation with no way out. He had to accept. It all seemed like a blur. Schell was transported to a company building and began his internship. He couldn't even tell how long it took to get there. Though it wasn't his choice, he couldn't be more grateful. It was a regular work environment. Or what seemed like it. ADULTHOOD - PRESENT DAY - |
