For once the fae have nothing to do* with the lair's latest farce. Tachyon's recruitment efforts for a metallurgist have gone even more sour with the troubles in Flamecaller's realm, and communication with the Shifting Expanse is a nightmare. Hardly anyone within the Starfall Isles did more than blink - it was, frankly, a completely normal Tuesday - but the rest of Sornieth has gone mad. It's enough to put a dragon at their wits' end.

So Tachyon was pleased to receive a letter from an old acquaintance asking if they were still seeking a Fire specialist - finally, progress! He immediately replied that indeed the position was still available and she was welcome as soon as she could travel to The Observatory.

Except blah blah not 100% on this so far, very subject to change, new dragon sets herself up as the chef de cuisine, has flock of delighted fae helpers, Tachyon has to build ovens. OVENS.

One may expect Spud to have a strong negative opinion, except she was introduced to dreadram en confit before the problem was explained. Any hint of rescinding Ryback's invitation is silenced with extreme prejudice.
