Biography

Thanks Ozeatetsor for selling Queen and not exalting her! And thank you for your support in my newest project - I hope it is SATISFACTORY!

Prologue
The full might of an entire Hive gathered within one mighty tree. Over one hundred yellow-and-black dragons awaited the emergence of their Queen. They would not wait long.

Within the confines of the largest beehive, one dragon was left. Well, one dragon and five hatchlings. The mother tended to her children like any other Hive Queen. She placed each hatched or hatching egg into a honeycomb. Normally, her loyal workers would be the ones who devoted their time to waxing the honeycombs, but today they were outside. Awaiting her return.

Four of the eggs were placed into honeycombs, all of them male. The last was female, a beautiful copper-silver hatchling only hours old. She would be sent away to form a new hive of her own. The swarm must be fed.

The Queen carried her daughter out into the sunlight, handing it to the sole dragon of the Hive that wasn't a Nocturne: Kokoa. Powers of the Hivemind gave her insight to the Queen's purpose for her - as an advisor to the young Hive and its Queen, when they reached a good location. And as a nursemaid.

Six males rose into the air, hovering for a moment as they received telepathic orders. Then they flew off, leading Kokoa to the place they had previously found suitable as a new Hive. The rest of the Hive dragons continued to watch their queen.

The Queen rarely spoke with words - rather, using her telepathic abilities as the Hivemind to command her dragons. Today was no exception. Squad four to the swarm. All else to their duties.

The workers and drones hurried to obey.
A long ways off already, Kokoa followed her Queen's drones out of the lush forests of the Viridian Labyrinth. They flew over land and water, into the Sunbeam Ruins, and to a grassy field.

In this field, the drones led Kokoa to a rough-cut hole in the ground. There seemed to be endless darkness below, but Kokoa had known darkness, back when her old Queen was as young as the one in her arms now, tucked beside a carefully-wrapped soul orb. She had once lived in a dark hole within the gmassive tree a great Hive now thrived in.

Kokoa dove into the darkness, then, when she felt the ground rushing up, spread her wings and landed gracefully. The drones, not as skilled in navigating the dark as she, had a split second to hear her stop before they tumbled. Kokoa ignored them, already taking steps forward into the cave below.

The descent had not been straight downward, and so only a little light leaked from the surface to see by. Kokoa's eyes adjusted easily enough, and after pausing to let the drones right themselves (they might get lost, after all) narrowed her focus to her physical soul. Her talons deftly unwove the fabric, then the orb began to glow with her power. A rare ability not many Pearlcatchers possessed, but Kokoa was one of the few.

They took the tunnel, which was only a small twist leading to a mighty cave. Empty shelves which could be adapted the honeycombs lined the walls, while a table sat in the center. Drawing on her inner power, Kokoa released dozens of illusionary fireflies from her scales. The drones gasped in amazement.

"Begin by unpacking." The drones, who had until now been carrying loads of honey, pollen, wax, and more for the new Hive, quickly unloaded. "You may wax the lair now. Thin layers only until a proper layout can be built."

With that, the new Hive's reign begins.
