Biography

(Adventurous Ecologist); he/him
When surveying the lakes, seas, and rivers from above, Neptune the aquarist Banescale came across what appeared to be a particularly large eel writhing about the mud of a seaside tributary. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a hatchling Undertide; he looked to be squabbling with some lost treasure, dirtied in their tussle, taken by a River Flight-- albeit, the little dragon seemed to think it was playing tug of war. The hatchling couldn't remember the way home and no soul came to claim him, so Neptune decided to take the dragon under his wing, and, under his tutelage, Mantooth grew a similar interest in studying the ocean.
Specifically, Manny became particularly concerned with marine litter, and worked with Neptune to collect lost scrap and miscellaneous artifacts from the depths of various bodies of water. The River Flight he was found with eventually, through a rivalry turned symbiotic relationship between Mantooth's keenness for cleaning up an environment and the Flight's fondness for collecting shiny objects, became his familiar and friend, named accordingly. Due to his dedication to his craft and taste for the shallows over deeper ocean, this Undertide has become particularly adept at terrestrial travel. One can always tell if a shore or riverbank has been visited by Manny if the soft earth has serpentine trails made from slithering sailfins, accompanied by the pitter-patter footprints of otter-like feet.
